Regrets
Its six O'clock and was time to get off work. Grace straightened her body because she had been sitting all day, she arranged her stuffs inside her bag. Then her phone rang. "Hey Betty, WhatsUp anytgany new? "Ummm, grace please can we meet up tonight? "Omg, seriously am tired but don't worry I will meet you soon, text me the address. "Thank you grace" Betty replied with a low tone. "Don't mention it babe, anything for you my love" grace could sense the sad tone from her voice, she was worried for her friend. Sje quickly arranged her stuffs and hurriedly left the building, she hailed a taxi and got in. Saint Nicholas cafe please.
Soon she got there only to find Betty looking depressed. "Hey girl, what's going on? Grace could see the sadness in Betty's eyes. "Oh Gracie, you're here? I didn't notice you, please sit" Betty said akwardly, "why would you notice me when you have your head up in the cloud" what happened?
"Ummm, grace can I spend the night at your place? "Sure betty, anytime and you're not supposed to be asking . You're my best friend for heaven's sake so you can come over anytime. "Did you order anything yet? Grace said rubbing her palms together.
"I have not orders yet" Betty replied. "Betty are you sure you're okay? You seem a bit off today. Anyways let's order two sandwiches already am starving. Grace called the waiter and he took Thier order.
Soon Thier order arrived, but Betty was still spacing out. "Hey girl, are you sure you're okay? Grace asked sounding very concerned now, "Gracie can we have a take out? Let's go home already" Betty said almost pleading. Grace ordered for a takeout and they left for home.
While in the taxi grace noticed Betty's odd behavior, "girly you have been staring at your phone the whole time, are you expecting a call? Grace asked "No grace" she replied almost immediately. "Young lady you have a lot of explaining to do when we get home. Betty heaved a sigh.
When they got home after unlocking the door, betty quickly rushed inside the house and locked the door immediately Grace walked in. Grace shooked her head and went into the kitchen, she came out with a glass of water for Betty which betty collected and gulped down the whole glass. "Now betty tell me what happened" Grace asked. Betty took a deep breath and started talking "you know about me and Jeff right? and our misunderstanding? "Yes and what's the issue this time? Grace said sitting comfortably on the sofa. "I had a hunch that he was cheating on me with that blonde and I don't know her too well although I didn't dwell too much on it until I visited his house today and caught him in bed with her, she said these words almost choking.
"WHAT!!! THE NERVE OF THAT GUY, FIRST THING TOMORROW I WILL VISIT HIM I'M GIVING THE PIECE OF MY MIND THAT SON OF THE BITCH. OMG I'M SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW HOW COULD HE DO THIS TO YOU? GRACE SAID OUT OF ANGER.
Betty couldn't hold it anymore, she cried bitterly "oh my poor friend, I'm so sorry just cry let it all out because this will be the last time you ever shed a tear because of that good for nothing guy. Grace said all these only to comfort her. Betty cried the more until what seems like forever she became sober.
Grace had this confused look on her face "gracie do you want to say anything just say it" grace said wiping her tears, "you know me too well betty, well since you're giving me permission I'll tell you straight up although I know is not right to tell you now, but I warned you about that guy his eyes are so bright and his movements are always suspicious but you never listen to me now see how he hurt you and broke you into pieces.
