Power and Glory!

The night went by so fast, I didn't even feel the time. In the distance you could feel the hostile atmosphere that everyone was going through. Tears could be heard, the feeling is more alive than other times.

─!On this immemorable day. I the representative of the ministers of Jamestwon proclaimed their new ruler and highest authority, the generous Dark Lady (Ycan). There will be new laws and whoever is not in favor of those laws. They will be punished for rebellion and contempt of authority. Their disobedience will cost them their lives!

Lady Ycan had gathered all the people to the central square of Jamestwon where they had placed a large statue of herself. In her infamous madness, she had the weak mayor brought in. Several men in dark masks dragged the mayor out of the worst cell that he himself had built for Ycan.

─By order of Lady Ycan we must take the mayor, or rather the late mayor.

─As Lady Ycan orders, take him.

The men took the mayor by the chains and led him in the direction of the central square.

Here is the greatest traitor of all! Isn't that right, old mayor?

After whispering in the mayor's ear, Ycan stood up. And grabbed the mayor by the brown hair. He looked at him with a Machiavellian smile and asked.

─Would you like to see how I execute the rebels?

─You have caused too much damage, give me the damage my people should receive. They don't deserve to die because of me.

Ycan stares at the mayor and lowers his head.

─I'm sorry, Mayor, but as I told you I don't take orders from anyone. Much less from an old man. Now I wonder what I'm going to do with his family, should I think about it any longer, finish them off in one fell swoop?

The mayor begged for mercy with sadness in his eyes said:

─No, please don't kill them. They have nothing to do with this matter, leave them out of this fight. I beg you, don't do anything to them.

─That's fine I won't kill them. Although on second thought.

─No please, don't do anything to them.

─They will be slaves in other states, chop iron or work in the fields. Your only grandson may die if my men find him, but let us enjoy the execution first, we must not torment ourselves over what you have done and its consequences. Let us enjoy your last minutes of life. Besides, why torment yourself with something you will not see.

Several Jamestown soldiers from the front line of the mayor's army knelt before his eyes. Men of war, still strong, but forced to surrender.

─We vow to die, for freedom and we will die defending it as much as it costs us. We cannot let ourselves be defeated.

One of them, a Lombard Italian, softly sang a song, sad and empty of joy. His comrades, listening to it, accompanied him in his song. Soon the performance became happy, as lively as if it were a party.

─Shut up or we will kill you.

One of Ycan's soldiers ordered silence, however, the Jamestown soldiers paid no heed and continued singing.

Fire! Finish them now!

shouted Lady Ycan with a tired tone.

All the men fell, that very dawn. The soldiers fired at the defenseless rebels. A silence filled the void. Everyone was shocked.

─Why are you doing this?

The mayor did not lose faith, and he pleaded painstakingly.

─Power ... Power ... more power and glory, that's what I fight for. I want everyone to know my name.

Ycan smiled and gave the mayor a light pat. He fixed his hair and put on his hat.

Before mounting, he raised his hand to the sky and lowered it giving the order to shoot the old mayor.

─On behalf of the new Jamestown government. I the representative of the old Jamestown regime. I execute the leader of the resistance, Mayor McFord. As a token of my support for the new leader, and example for those who wish to rebel.

The representative reloaded the gun and pointed it at the mayor.

Tas...

They say the sound of the bullet was heard beyond the prairies, and like thunder in the foothills of the volcano like an alarm. Everyone who knew the situation already knew what they all had to face in the new era. New times were coming.

Lady Ycan created her group of ministers and mayors. Several governors from the north of Mexico and the south of the United States sent support to the current governor who had been placed as a puppet governor, from time to time Lady Ycan decided on the best of her men to run the mayor's office for a limited time. All the neighboring towns had mayors that Lady Ycan herself decided.

Those governors, like the one in Pennsylvania or Michigan, believed that those governors had been elected by the will of the people.

Even many of their contacts remained in the U.S. Congress, diverting attention from what was happening.

Never knowing how things really were. No one would ever discover that this woman was the one who ruled the world from the darkness. She dominated everything... but there is always hope even if it takes many years.

A hero would return and defeat Lady Ycan and bring peace to all people.
