1 Prologue

More than Fifty decades ago, six humans began a journey into the unknown. They decided they would go on adventures and experience life first-hand. They started without looking back and they travelled, going through life without a shred of regret.

Eventually, they got to a beautiful land high up in the mountains. One they had only heard of in fairy tales. This land was called The Paradise Of Eden. Its beauty was incomparable to the best lands they had journeyed through, earning it the name 'Paradise'.

But it was not only for its beauty that it was known for. Legend had it that in this land was a fountain that was eternal and that this fountain was the source of powers. Of course, since it had just been a fairy tale story, no one really believed there was such a thing as a land of paradise, less of a water that could bestow one with powers to do the naturally impossible.

But right before the eyes of these brave humans was the Paradise Land and being who they were, they couldn't withstand the urge to explore it. Perhaps, this would be the high point of their adventures and which would make it worthwhile.

There was a huge golden gate that glowed as if it had just been newly placed. These humans came towards it and as if sensing their presence, the gate made a loud unlocking sound and opened of its own accord.

They entered and when their eyes beheld the glory of the land, they were speechless. Tears even ran down their faces due to the sheer beauty this land possessed!

In this place were different kind of beasts that only existed in people's imaginations. All around were flowering plants that blossomed beautifully and complemented the warm yellow glow of the sun.

The aura it emitted made these humans want to bow down and worship it forever.

But the most important thing that cast even a greater impression on them was the fountain! It was a great mass of water and its very presence in the land was the very reason of its existence. This, was the fountain of life.

Unlike expected, they approached it without any mishaps or trap activations and as they stood in front of the fountain, they knew this was it. They were the very first humans to not only see the gates of the Paradise Land, but enter it...and drink from the eternal fountain.

But nothing happened.

They were very disappointed and began their journey back. However, as the days passed, they realized their bodies were not reacting as it normally would. They felt less tired and less hungry but more powerful and more agile.

They thought nothing of it at first, but when they eventually got back to their towns, things began to happen. One by one, these humans began to do the impossible as if it was nothing and they could always do it.

One was able to manipulate water and another was able to manipulate fire. Another was able to harness the power of the sun and convert it into extreme physical strength or even convert it to another form of energy.

They were called, 'The Progenitors'

Due to this, the world immediately took notice of them. The first thing that was done by the Government was to gather a crew who by the directions of the Progenitors went in search for the Land Of Paradise. However, there was nothing of such. They got to the mountain, yet they saw nothing except layers upon layers of Ice.

The Paradise City was lost!

After that, experiments were carried out by the Government. The basis for the experiment was to find out if these powers could be transferred to another human. They had a vision wherein the whole world's economy would be boosted beyond possible imagination.

Experiments upon experiments failed until a man so called, Draxler, had a breakthrough. He was able to realize that the bodies of the Progenitors had gone through an evolution, totally mutating their DNA and which gave rise to the powers they possessed.

He invented a way in which other humans could have such powers.

And that was by infusing them with blood from the Progenitors.

Some humans were led into believing this would work and offered themselves and models despite knowing that there was a 100% chance of such experiments failing, inevitably leading to their death.

Once again, there was another round of experiments. And none of them went well. The humans who gave themselves as models were infused with the blood of the Progenitors along with some other drugs and materials that the scientists believed would aid in the successful mutation of their DNA. However, things did not go totally as planned.

There truly was a mutation of genes but it mutated them in such a way that those humans not only developed powers but had their brains completely wiped out and reformed into what was later called the 'X-Terror'

They became mindless beasts in human flesh and they murdered the scientists and broke out of the experimentation buildings. Many of them were killed, but some escaped and where never found.

This put a stop to the experimentation for sometime until Draxler once again realized the perfect way to achieve the mutation of DNA but without creating an X-Terror. And that was by adding an element called Zioda into the blood of the Model before infusing it with blood from the Progenitors.

At first, humans defiantly refused to offer themselves as models due to the fact that they had suffered terribly in the hands or rather claws of the X-terrors. But a bold man whose name was John, offered to be a model and the experiment was carried out.

It was a success which was complete, yet, partial. John's DNA went through mutation but not completely and this was due to the effect the Zioda in his blood had on the Progenitors blood infused. But this was for the best as this was what made John still be in his right state of mind after the experiment.

What the incomplete mutation meant however was that such humans could never control the elements per say like the Six Progenitors could. Instead, they were able to control variants of it and even got new powers totally different from those of the Progenitors, but which were still below their powers in terms of raw strength.

The success of this experiment led to mass humans going in for the 'Infusion' However, the government did not give it out freely. They began to make money out of it.

The blood of the Progenitors were not needed anymore as John's blood was just enough to be infused and there was no longer need for the Zioda element to first be infused since it was already in John's blood. More experiments were carried out still, and finally it was possible to separate and determine what kind of powers one would get when infused with Blood.

Powers were then graded according to their Strength and the lesser ones were made available to the public for a certain amount of money. Those that were higher in grade were kept and only given to the nobles or super wealthy and famous people who of course paid a hefty amount of money for it. And those of the highest grade were withheld totally by the government, reasons were unknown.

And this, was the mark of a new Era. The Era of Powers. But this Era came with its own troubles. Not long after that breakthrough, the first Sharukan who was a scout, was sighted. The Sharukan were an alien race who were just as intelligent as humans but were more advanced than them and had greater views about life in general. They looked like lizards except that their bodies took on the base shape of a human. They all had one skin colour, purple.

There came a day when the whole army of the Sharukan came to earth in their warship whose design was beyond human comprehension. And they came with just one message. 'Be our slaves and we will let you live.'

It seemed quite crude and even stupid since the Sharukan knew that humans were not weak to defend themselves now that they had powers, but humans realized far too late that the Sharukan were not bluffing and that they meant business.

The world was almost extinguished by the Sharukan. By their terrifying speed, strength, powerful beasts they brought along and technology. It was like they were a super alien race that just decided to play with the humans and test themselves.

Luckily, the Progenitors who by then had made themselves scarce in that they now lived above the clouds suddenly appeared out of nowhere and the tides shifted but not completely. The six of them were able to push the Sharukan out of the Earth, but not with brawn, but brains. There was a deal that was struck which till today is still unknown.

Of course after such devastation, the world went through various changes. The human technology improved due to engineers experimenting with remains from the great battle and the world went through another upgrade once again.

Things were much easier and the world had finally recovered from the terror the Sharukan had wreaked on it.

However, the war had left indelible marks on the world. Humans who had been living in peace despite some having more impressive and stronger powers, began living like animals. The world became a place where the weak survived only by relying on the strong. While the strong did almost whatever they pleased with the weak, whether those who had powers or ordinary humans.

Training Schools for those that had powers were then established and while it was optional for some people, it was mandated of others. And those others are not treated nicely the very moment they are found to be 'weak'!

"Even peace is ephemeral..."

The expiration date is getting closer and closer and only the strong will last!
