Joining A Team

[Episode 21]

Why must I always think back to that time... It always leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth. Hm? What's Lynn thinking about so intensely?

Her face suspiciously brightens up. "Hey Ruvie, you know how we were talking about groups just now? I just had the most brilliant idea!" I hope she hasn't come up with anything too ridiculous. "Say... Would you like to join the group that I'm in hun!?"

"Ah-" So that's what she was planning. I don't want to get involved with any more people so, "No thanks, I prefer working alone."

She pats my back and beckons me toward her teammates. "C'mon Ruvie, don't say no so hastily! At least meet them and decide!"

"Lynn. I already said no. I don't want to join a group of strangers. You never know what they have planned." It's even more dangerous since I'm a woman now. They might try to do something vile to me if it's a group of dudes.

"Yeah I know dearie, but they're all perfectly fine from what I've seen so far. Can't you afford to join us just for just two hours hun?"

I stare at her for a few minutes, clearly expressing my discomfort but her pleading face ultimately makes me concede. I exhale heavily, beckoning for her to stop dragging me, "Why do you want me to join them so badly anyway?"

Lynn smiles knowing that she managed to convince me, "We found a cave today and plan to go back in later to try and fully explore it."

As a final attempt to not join their party, I point toward my lack of weapons. Lynn grins pridefully and opens her storage. "I had a feeling you'd try to excuse yourself because of that so that's why I already got one ready for you while we were talking!"

It seems Lynn isn't going to take no for an answer. If you already decided I'd join you, what was the point of even asking?

There's no way I can say no now when she's laughing so proudly. To be fair, she did go out of her to buy me a dagger too.

"Thanks, I guess... I'll pay you back for the dagger later. I'll join your team but just for today."

She hops in front of me, "No worries babes! The dagger is free so just leave the rest to me. Follow me this way!"

"What time do you guys plan to leave?"

She staggers and scratches her head. "I'm actually part of another team but this private group invited me to join for the day so, to be honest, I don't actually know any of the details haha…"

Excuse me?! Lynn laughs nervously.

*Sigh*

Lynn, I swear- I thought they found the cave together but you mean to tell me she doesn't even know anything about them? I better check them out myself then.

Why didn't she think this through before asking me to join?! Is it still too late to decline?

"Let me introduce you to the leader of this team, Pietro Luciano! Isn't he a handsome one?"

Definitely too late, she's introducing me to the captain and I'm certain she has a thing for him. She's making it extremely obvious from the way she's excitedly pacing around him and grabbing onto his arm.

Though, she definitely isn't as taken as Fuyu is with Jaehyun. I'm sure she's just into his face. In other words, a childish and short-lived crush.

Again. Why are people more concerned about romance than their actual lives?

Pietro Swifty approaches me, sliding Lynn's arm away, and offers his hand. "Nice to meet you, I hope we can get along and find some remarkable treasures in the cave yes."

"Pietro Luciano..." For some reason, I don't trust this guy. It's either because of his thick stubble and gelled upwards hair or his snake-like smile. Regardless of the reason, It's obvious that I shouldn't get too friendly with him.

Though to be honest, the other six members don't look too bad and Lynn seems to trust them enough even though she doesn't know anything about them.

Besides, they seem to have a female member of their own and she looks happy and safe with them.

Their second in command, Joseph, looks pretty friendly too. Yeah, let's be positive Ruvian.
