1 An Unexpected Encounter

It was Sunday morning when the sun shone bright in New York City. The temperature was unusually hot. All roads were full of traffic with cars continuously honking.

"EVA, how much time is it gonna take for us to reach the mall?" her best friend, Christie asked.

"I just don't know if we will even be able to reach the mall at all..." replied Eva in a dull voice.

The car behind her was continuously honking as if unaware of the traffic jam ahead. She became frustrated and hopped out of the car to give the man behind her a good scolding. The moment she saw who the person driving the car was, she became dumbstruck. Her mind seemed to have short-circuited and she didn't know what to do. It was him, the person whom she had tried so hard to forget.

CHRISTOPHER JAMES!!

Her boyfriend whom she had loved her entire life and who left her without even telling her anything. She had searched everywhere for him but never knew where he went and today he had unexpectedly came in front of her. He was as handsome as he had always been, maybe more. His mouth, face and those breathtaking eyes were just the same like before. The feelings she thought had vanished reappeared.

She didn't know when she sat in the car and had started driving in the wrong direction on the road until Christie interrupted her thoughts by asking her of where she was going. That's when she realised what she was doing and turned her car back towards the direction of the mall.

" I heard that there is going to be a huge sale at Chanel and Gucci today. I just went shopping yesterday and I felt like going today as well. You know that women love shopping. By the way, I just went to the Central Park yesterday and..."

None of her words registered in Eva's mind. She was thinking about him since she saw him.

Why did he come back now??
