Nothing Else

Bryson technically was a person I overestimated.

It was kinda strange how it came full circle, from starting to think he was just an asshole to thinking he was a good guy, to realizing he wasn't that good after all. I mean, he admitted himself that the rumors had been true because that was the kind of person his past self was.

To be honest, I didn't expect this at all. Hearing the anecdotes from the other servants made me think that he was exaggerating it as well. But regardless, it would all come down to assumptions. In reality, with his words and his past memories, it could've only been so much of a lie.

In other words, Bryson wasn't all that great of a person.

Yet, this ironically only made my opinion of him rise. Perhaps objectively this judgment was wrong, but I valued more someone that was originally bad becoming good rather than someone that was good the whole time.

With a small smile on my face, I spoke in my mind.

'Y'know... I think you're pretty cool.'
