202 Beastmen

I narrowed my eyes and got a bit closer, trying to get a better look. While that was happening, Bryson gave me some more information.

'Most of the settlements outside of the kingdom belong to the beastmen. Although they are rather feral and hard to control, our relationship with them is cooperative. However, because of their instincts, it is better for them to be in the wild for both parties.'

"Ah. Then there probably won't be any problems if I'm just asking for directions to the kingdom, right?"

'I don't believe so, from what I've heard.'

I couldn't help but lose a bit of faith when I heard the second part of his sentence, but I decided to be hopeful anyway. If they were beastmen, I guess it makes sense to be walking on all fours.

In the latter half of the game, the beastmen did become enemies, but... that was only years later. Perhaps it isn't the case now.

I mean, it costs nothing to be optimistic.
