Chapter 1 ( Mya&Aaliyah)

"Damn I'm gone be late to fucking school" I said, as I  got out the bed and rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my Face. I had showered the night before thank god because I didn't have time to shower this morning because I'm already late and it was going on 8:30. I had to be to Martin Johnson High School by 9:30. Knowing I had to walk 5 blocks to school I knew I was going to miss most of first period English Class And I would be marked absent.

Rushing to get dressed I hurriedly looked through my top dresser drawer for something nice to wear. It was the last day of school before summer break and the week before my 17th birthday . I decided on my brand new True Religion dark skinny jeans, My yellow True Religion Shirt and my all white Air Forces. "Good thing I went to the mall and stole a couple outfits last week with Aaliyah I said to myself as I tied my shoes. Me and Aaliyah had been bestfriends since we were 13 years old and we were inseparable. "Matter of fact let me call this hoe and see where she at because I know if I'm late she super late " I said to myself as I checked my reflection in my full length mirror making sure I looked decent.

I'm about 5'2,Brownskinned kind of bowlegged thanks to my daddy ,36 D size breast and a nice bubble butt but not one of them big wide kind of butts . I have almond shaped eyes with thick eyelashes sometimes they are hazel or they are this greenish brown looking color I don't know for real don't get me to lying. My brown hair is naturally long, curly and full thanks to my half Indian father Semaj and my mixed ass mother Dynasty. I usually wore it in braids  and My lips are full  pink juicy and not to big or small  Meghan good kind of lips.

Putting my phone down and putting it on speaker as it reached the final ring before the voicemail, I went to the bathroom to grab my Eco gel and edge brush to touch up my edges. I had my hair braided in some knotless box braids that stopped just above my ass.They were about two weeks old so I'll be taking them down before my birthday comes it's the last day of school anyways. Hearing Aaliyah's voicemail I asked Siri to call her again and it started to ring. "This bitch always sleeping like she fucking dead" I said to myself, grabbing my Forever 21 bookbag style purse and stuffing my Iphone 7 plus charger and some lipgloss in it I put it on grabbed my phone and walked out my room towards the front door.

My mother Dynasty was asleep drunk on the couch as always I'm surprised she even home she usually gone to her bestfreind house down the street to spend the night and get drunk all day I shook my head as I crept passed not wanting to wake her annoying loud ass up I didn't have time for her shit today. I pulled out my airpods and put them in my ears and put my phone in my back pocket so I could lock the door behind me.

We lived in the Cedar Park Projects In Cleveland On The 3rd floor. It was fun down here sometimes despite niggas getting killed all around this motherfucker and selling drugs but that's normal in Cleveland niggas die everyday B true story.

Everybody knew everybody down here as we liked to call it DTW for short which means Down The Way All the hoods are literally close af to each other but that don't stop them from beefing,killing and fighting each other. Sometimes two hoods might click up together to beef with another hood which was stupid as fuck because we all from DTW at the end of the day. Walking Out the downstairs door towards Aaliyah's house to wake her ass up it was already like 10:30 we pretty much missed the whole first period Ms. Brown was gone be on our ass even if it was the last day of school. Ms. Brown was our old white first period English teacher that was always in my face about something and sending me to the office for being disrespectful as she would say her old ass just aint like me.

Aaliyah lived by the store towards the front of the projects while I lived kind of on the other side it was always people by the store especially all the hood niggas. I always turned my music on when I got by the store so I could act like I couldn't hear the hood niggas calling my name trying to spit game and talk to me. Pressing play on my Airpods "Greenlight" by Rosee Camp played loudly in my ears he was a Cleveland rapper from my hood we grew up together since elementary he always show the hood love and was highly respected. Finally getting to Aaliyah's downstairs door and taking the couple stairs to her front door was quick since she lived on the first-floor I knocked twice " Who Is It?" Her Mama Lisa yelled through the door " Mya" I said waiting and pressing pause on my music Lisa unlocked and opened the door for me.

Hey Ma" I said to her and she reached out for a hug I hugged her back and asked where Aaliyah was at " You know her lazy ass in there sleep like dead I knew you was gone come get her for school probably the only person besides god that can wake the Lil tramp up" she laughed and said laughing with her. I walked through the house to Aaliyah's room in the back. Opening her door to her room which was full of packed boxes with her name on them preparing for the move I ran over and jumped on her sleeping body and pinched her cheek ,

" Wake up we super late for the last day of school you know its the only day we don't have to wear uniform" I said to her sleeping form. Aaliyah Then moved her legs from under me so she could get up out the bed " You lucky I love you Mya" she said. " Girl please you would of been mad as fuck if I would have went to the last day without you", "You know me so well" she laughed and said. Finally getting from under the covers she walked to her dresser to pick out something to wear " I think I'm going to wear my blue Jean Polo skirt and my plaid Polo button down and tie it up in the front" she said to me and started to get dressed. Aaliyah is a caramel skinned color with a cute face brown colored eyes dark brown hair  that she usually wore blonde weave in went past her shoulders she usually added some tracks to it to make it look fuller and wore it down and curled, We the same height 5'2,She thick in the hips with a fat ass as the niggas always say , She has a flat stomach and size 34b perky breasts which she was very proud of. always see ". Aaliyah done getting dressed then walked over to her closet to find some shoes to wear she had boxes and boxes of shoes still in the box she never ever wore yet. "I think I'm a wear my new Pink and light green Jordan's because they match my shirt perfect she said .

he is 23 he sell drugs heavy he is one of he biggest dope dealers down here.He supposed to be moving them out the hood this weekend I'm going to miss my bestfriend living close by me. Aaliyah finally was done getting dressed and had her shoes on After going to do her hygiene routine and fix her hair then we a be ready to go . Lamont was a hood bad boy I've know since we moved down here when I was 13. Lamont wasn't the school type growing up he went sometimes or at least it looked like he did I stayed seeing him in the hood with his uniform on usually by the store or in the basketball court by my house. I could tell from how good his waves looked. I'm shy as hell so I never told him or anything like that but I'd speak when I ran into him or give him a hug when I saw him and he usually a make small talk and ask me "what I was finna do?" or that he a see me later we never got further than that.

Making sure her hair was cute Aaliyah grabbed her Marc Jacobs purse and we headed out the door for school. " So did Lamont speak to you when he came over ?" I asked " I thought you aint care Mya ?" she laughed "You know I be faking " I said back

I asked shrugging her shoulders as we reached the street preparing to cross to go inside the store I heard somebody call my name me and Aaliyah both turned our heads at the same time looking to see who called me. Looking back towards the couple benches in front of the building across from Aaliyah's it was a couple of the Boys from the hood I recognized shooting dice and Lamont. "Speaking of Lamont" Aaliyah smiled at me and said. "Don't start Aaliyah I'm not playing with you" I said to her. Turning her back towards the dice game Aaliyah whispered to me and asked me was Montez with Lamont in the group of boys shooting dice, looking over to see I spotted him collecting his money and walking to sit next to Lamont on the bench. Montez and Lamont are cousins or something I think they always been around each other since back in the day but you know everybody be "cousins" in the hood nowadays.

"I know you heard me call you Mya " Lamont said turning back around towards the dice game Aaliyah asked " So you gone go see what he want or nah ?". Rolling my eyes I started the walk across the small parking lot to where Lamont and the others

were shooting dice while Aaliyah happily followed me. Getting to the spot my shyness kicked in "Shit here we go again" I said to myself. I always tell myself I'm not going to be shy next time I run into this nigga but it never fails me. " So I don't get a hug now?" Lamont said to me. Looking up from counting his money Montez looked at me and said " Girl stop playing and give my nigga a hug" .

Smacking my lips "Shut up nigga I was gone give him a hug anyways" I said getting up off the bench so we could hug I walked around the dice game and reached my arms around his waist for a quick side hug. "Man if you don't give me a real hug Mya" Lamont said and he grabbed my arms and put them around his neck and grabbed my waist and hugged me his lips close to my neck and ear sent chills down my body and had my heart beating fast as fuck. "You smell good" he said and pulled out of the hug "What I'm supposed to smell like ?" I smiled showing my dimples.

Walking back to where Aaliyah was standing making small talk with Montez I asked her was she ready to go to the store so we can at least make it to 4th period Gym it was 12:00. "What ya'll about to do?" Montez asked us while I fake checked my phone feeling Lamont looking at me . "On our way to school " Aaliyah hurried up and responded to him.

it's the last day aint it?" Lamont asked "yeah how you know and you never there? I asked him. laughing he said " I be there sometimes I do my work I leave most days though I'm smart af for real" he said. " yeah bitch is kind of smart for a hood nigga" Montez said. Lighting a blunt and taking a hit Lamont said " shidd ya'll beyond late it's the last day and ya'll missed homeroom so ya'll technically absent" " Right " Montez chimed in smiling. Getting up from the bench and dapping up the couple dudes left shooting dice Montez and Lamont came to where we were standing. Passing the blunt to Montez ,Lamont said " So ya'll trying to chill with us or what we got a spot " he said. Blushing and my heart beating fast as hell I looked at Aaliyah for a answer " Up to Mya she's the one wanted to go to school for real not me" she said. "so wasup ?" Lamont asked looking at me licking his lips before he grabbed the blunt from Montez to hit again.

" Bet come on " Montez said as we all followed him to his black Audi parked on the street by the building. Getting in the backseat Lamont told Aaliyah to ride in the front with

Montez and he climbed in the back with me making me nervous as hell then Montez pulled off.
