Maya held onto the phone in excitement as she listened to the man's offer. Logically, they couldn't fire the current art director just to open up the role for her, however, the boss had specifically created a new assistant art director role just for her, under the premise that she was willing to receive a lower pay than standard. 

Because of their budget, they were willing to hire her instead of a junior, but they couldn't pay her any more than what a midweight designer would receive.

However, Maya didn't mind. Like she mentioned at the interview, she was confident that she would be able to increase the company's profits. She had always believed that hard work would pay off and she held her hopes high for this company.
