After Lucas dragged Maya out of the ballroom, he tried to take her straight to his car. But, of course, Maya wasn't some obedient little woman that would just follow him without question, so she stopped as soon as there was no one around and pulled him into the nearest stairwell.

"What's going on?" she asked as she waved the box in her hand.

Lucas smirked, grabbed the box, and opened it. He then pulled out the ring and tried to place it on Maya's fourth finger. "Didn't you say that you wanted to marry me?" he teased.

"Th-that was Delilah!" Maya stuttered as she pulled her hand away.

Lucas laughed. "Delilah was in the hospital with a broken nose," he said as he shook his head. Her lies didn't work on him anymore. He already knew everything. "Oh, Maya, you are a sneaky woman. While your sister was lying in a hospital bed, you seduced her fiance..."
