I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him.

Calix stood silently staring back at me.

I had no idea why he was here or how? For what possible reason could he be here?!!

I mean, it's a school! And he's a working adult!

I stood still and composed myself.

"Why are you here?" I asked him and just then Jayce approached me to see who I was looking at so intensely.

"Rave?" He came and stood next to me and then looked at Calix. His eyes went wide when he saw him, "Uh- Yo- You're Calix Bright." He was confused as he looked at him, "Sir, is there a problem?"

"No," He replied, "I just thought I'd come pick her up." He looked at me, "But almost all the students have left and there was no sign of her so I came to look."

There was a pause.

Jayce's mind scrambled around with the information but it didn't take him long to get to the conclusion.

"Wait!" He looked at me, "He's your pair?"

I nodded.

I gave him a quick answer.

Calix came forward, "Now that you know," He glared at Jayce, "You may leave."

"I-" Jayce looked between us and then fixed his gaze on me, "Rave-"

"Just go," I told him a little annoyed.

I was feeling angsty.

Nothing was going my way and it was annoying!

Jayce didn't utter a single word and left.

Calix then looked at me, "So, he was your ex." He seemed a little angry, "What could you be doing here at an isolation with your ex?"

"He's also my friend," I answered.

"Interesting." He was not pleased with my words.

"Why are you here?" I asked him in a crude tone.

"I already answered that, I'm here to pick you up."

"Why?"

"I asked you to move in with me."

"I never agreed to that." I told him and for a moment he was shocked but he composed himself quite nicely.

"Why not?"

"I can't be with you Calix." I told him, "I don't want to be with you." I had no filter on.

This time be was quite astounded, "We're a fated pair-"

"I don't care!!" I yelled at him, "To hell with fated pairs and soul mates!" I glared at him as I gripped my backpack, "You and I are not meant to be!"

I gritted my teeth but he didn't get angry.

"Rave..." He remained calm, "Did I do something wrong?" His question caught me off guard, "What exactly are you mad at?"

I was not expecting that but for some reason it did calm me, "Everything..." I told him.

"It can't be everything." He walked up to me, "Tell me. Did I do something wrong?" He looked at me with an expression of concern and worry and looking at that made me feel bad for yelling at him.

I pursed my lips together and looked down.

I shook my head, "No,"

"Then?"

"I just-" I sighed, "I can't do this." I looked at him.

"Why?" He crouched down on one knee and my gaze lowered, "Tell me. He asked softly, "I'm sure it's something that can be fixed."

"..."

"Come on Rave." He looked into my eyes, "You can tell me."

I kept staring at him with no idea what to say.

Is be being so nice because he's my pair? Or is he like that normally too?

"Or is it that you don't even want to give me a chance?" He kept his eyes on me and my heart beat became a little erratic.

His last line also made my heart sting.

I guess I should give him an answer.
