1 Running away.

"Are you freaking out of your mind Tammana?" shouted Meera at the top of her lungs

The other girl ran and put her hand on the shouting girl's mouth. "Sshhhh, why are you shouting? Do you want everyone to know that we are going out?" she whispered putting her other hand on her mouth in a zipping action.

When she heard the muffled words of Meera, she slowly withdrew her hand and warned with her eyes to not shout again. The girl nodded and whispered.

"And you think no one will know that you ran from the coven at the middle of the night just to see the festival of humans." She was afraid to even when she was not the one who is trying to flee.

"Not just any 'festivities' but we will see the new year Meera. I was about to go on 'Christmas' too but it was my turn to serve the Lord. So I wasn't able to." She replied pouting. All the hairs of Meera's body stood up at that statement.

"Did anyone know about your crazy plans?" Meera asked looking around like a thief, afraid if anyone was hearing them.

But ignoring her reactions, Tammana just shook her head with a smug look. "Only you and I are going out because if Sonam heard it, she would definitely complain to the lord."

But the other girl just shook her head like a rattle drum-like her life depended on it. She wasn't going out, in any case, no matter what!

Tammana laughed in her heart at her 'cute friend' but her outer expression was just the opposite. She instantly brought a tear into her eyes while her lips turned down, making her appear like an abandoned puppy.

Meera turned her head to another side to avoid 'the look on her face' but her eyes were just not supporting her. She looked at the crying Tammana from the peripheral vision of her eyes and took a deep sigh. "Fine, but just for two hours." Meera said raising her two fingers.

"Yes, I know! . Tammana let out a chuckle, hugging her friend before flying with into the air with meera in her arms. Meera widened her eyes at the sudden flight and managed to open her wings on time. For a while, both of them swirled in the air, their wings glowing in the sunlight and their body 'shimmering'.

In the far deeper area of forest Mayong, there is a part called the forest of light. There live fairies in a faction called the coven of light. They look just like us when you see them. Hard to realize that they are fairies.

But whenever they want, they turn into one. With that their body started glowing, and their wings grow. Their nose and ears turn pointy, and their hairs grow. They each have a different eye colour to signify their powers. Each colour with a different meaning to show the gift of mother earth in them

They all have a wand to do magic. But each fairy has an elemental power in them. Some can produce fire, some can heal, some can control air, and some water. Each has a gift from mother nature whom they pray to. They have been given the task to keep the forest safe.

They live in small groups in different forests just like human communities. But they are not allowed to meet them in open. Only a few elders can go there and live with humans to supply the necessary information.

They have small houses just like humans, living with their families, having a picnic in the riverside and much more. They even could have a flying race for fun. They don't have electronic gadgets, but they have the magic to run.

Instead of light and gas, they can use their hands to fire the pot and cook the meal. They can create air breeze and even storm instead of the a/c. They have the power of ice to cool things. They grew plants of their wish within a few minutes touching the soil.

It was a rule made by their lord as he hates humans for their greed; he believes that if humans come to know about their existence, they would use his kind for their own benefit as there was a rule, which prohibited fairies from killing a living being. And If the rule was broken, the fairy responsible would be cursed, turning into a witch.

They will lose their power to turn, and only elemental ability will remain with them. It was a rule written in the centuries-old books of their past. But since it never happened, people starting taking it as a myth.

They lived with love and care with all the animals living there in the forest which was enchanted to keep humans away. They would not find the existence of this place. If one came close enough, they would lose their way.

Their head was called the lord; he was the one who makes the rule and makes sure that everyone follows. Everyone respects him as he is the one who kept them safe.

But there are few like Tammana who wants to go out and see humans at least once. They have read a lot about them and even have seen them through the border moving around

And luckily, she came to know that the group of the elder from the northern coven will return back on the night of the new year and the enchantment will be open only for fairies for the whole night.

She just has to find a way to escape with them and return back at the hour of sleep, and everything will be fine. She danced again thinking that her wish finally come true.

What she doesn't know is that sometimes, we have to pay much more than we trade for.
