08 - New Spell

I left the store with the watch on my arm and thinking how beautiful this was. Not only was it a well made weapon, but the look of the watch itself was very elegant and even the hands worked.

"Now that you have a Conductor I can teach you a spell. This is the most basic spell, but it is one of the best spells for you to train your Mana while making things easier for you." Elena said as we walked back towards the gym. "The name of the spell is 'Afferte' which in Latin means 'Bring', for example, look at that stone."

Hearing this I got excited as it would be the first time she had used a spell for me to see. The only spell I had seen so far was Teleportation, but it consumed a lot of Mana.

Elena pointed at the stone with her right hand as she injected Mana into the bracelet, the bracelet turned into a sword and she pointed her sword at the small stone as she said. "Afferte!"

The little pebble flew from the ground to her left hand.

I was quite surprised by this, and soon a message popped into my mind.

Not only the information about the spell, but also all the control I had to have with the mana in the body to cast the spell also appeared in my mind.

The spell was quite useful, and considering that it cost 1 Mana Unit per meter, even if a Supernatural lost their Conduit, the spell could cost a maximum of 10 Mana Units, of course, ignoring the difficulty of casting the spell which would also increase , but it would still be possible for the person to pick up his Conductor that was not in hand at the time.

If I wanted I could even do the spell right now and copy Elena, but it would be very strange for someone who in her view had never performed a spell to be able to use something this quickly, so I just pretended to be surprised and acted like I didn't know how to do that. it worked.

"The spell is quite simple, and most Supernaturals use it when they need something that is far away, or even when they are feeling lazy. Because of the constant use people quickly get used to the spell and are able to move things at a cost of 1 Mana Unit per meter, and over time it's not difficult to lower the cost even further, but for that you have to train a lot." Elena explained.

"I have a question. Couldn't you use the spell without turning your bracelet into your sword?" I asked while frowning.

For Supernaturals just being able to use spells with weapons in hand would be very problematic.

Elena just shook her head and replied. "It's possible, I can even do it, but the Mana control needed to do this is much stricter, any carelessness increases the spell's Mana consumption, so normally only very experienced Supernaturals use this, or Supernaturals and powerful Mages with a lot of Mana left over, as for them, losing 5 Mana Units on a spell is no big deal."

Hearing this I understood.

When we finally got to the front of the gym again, she took a book out of her backpack and handed it to me. "Here's the formula for the Afferte spell, study it for a while and you'll soon be able to use the spell skillfully. When you're done studying the spell you'll return the book to me, but there's no need to rush."

"Thank you so much Elena, when I learn the spell I'll let you know." I replied with a smile as I picked up the book. But I soon remembered a doubt. "If I get money, where can I buy Mana Stones?"

"Usually it's a little difficult to get Mana Stones from normal stores, but you can let me know and I can get them for you." She answered.

"Fine, thanks. Then I'll be gone, bye!" I said goodbye.

"Bye Bye." She waved at me and we headed home.

I was really looking forward to getting home soon. Not only to use Afferte for the first time, but also to start putting my plan to earn money into practice.

From what I felt from the Mana Stone Elena gave me, each stone had an average of 1 Mana Unit, if I didn't absorb the impurity it would reduce to around 0.95 Mana Units, just 5% impurity.

As I am currently at 101.7 Mana Units, I would need at least 104 more Mana Stones to double my total amount of Mana, counting it in cash, would be the equivalent of $104,000, which for someone like me, is a few years of my salary.

Of course, that's disregarding how much Mana I could get in that time just by unlocking the locks I felt in my Mana, just like I did when I woke up today.

But either way, I don't know what the job Elena is going to get me is, or how much it pays, as long as I can get to work with something better and invest my time in a more effective way.

Among all the options I thought of, there were only two things I could do that could make me money quickly.

One was to post videos on Youtube, and the other was to do livestreams. If I made video for youtube I would just focus on that, but while Elena was working out and I was pretending to be purifying my Mana, I thought, I can just stream and take the best parts of the stream and post it on youtube, so I I'm going to get money both ways at the same time.

With the difference I saw in the level of play I had when I activated S-Eyes, I can start playing competitively, even participating in some tournaments while I'm live on the stream and making even more money at the same time. .

And after a game is over, I can just keep recovering my Mana while I talk to people in the chat.

As much as some people don't like me to just play a game and relax for a few minutes, if I can entertain people enough while I'm playing they probably won't worry about it!

I came up with this idea because one of my friends from high school became a streamer, his streams get an average of 1,000 viewers, and from what he told us, that makes approximately $5,000 a month adding up how much he earns for subs, ads, donations and advertisements what brands provide for it.

That salary is already almost 3x as high as mine as a store manager, where I only earn $2,000 a month.

My friend plays relatively well, being neither very good nor bad, but what made him attract audiences is because he is very good at entertaining people in a funny way. When we were at school he was always the funniest kid in the class, so that didn't surprise anyone.

I'm not funny like him, but I can make up for it with how well I play. As long as I show an extremely high level, this will already become a differential that will attract viewers.

When I got home the first thing I did was take a shower, the smell of sweat on my body was already bothering me a little.

Looking at myself in the mirror I started to smile. My belly had shrunk even more! I had lost practically half of the fat I had accumulated and gained some muscle.

I was losing a lot more fat than I was gaining muscle, but I knew it would be like this, losing fat is easier than gaining muscle even for normal people, but because of Mana, the speed at which I did both had increased a lot. !

Maybe in a few days I'll have a defined belly and even a six-pack can appear here haha!

After cleaning up I put on a nice outfit and sat in front of the computer while I put the streaming programs to install and started training the Afferte spell.

As I had already trained my Mana control to activate and deactivate S-Eyes throughout the day yesterday and today in addition to teleporting a few times before going to sleep, my Mana control was already becoming much better than it used to be. Two days ago.

It only took me a few seconds to understand the information from Afferte in my mind and I was already able to use the spell to grab my headset from the table.

"Afferte!" I said out loud as I pointed my right hand at the receiver.

Magically the earpiece began to float towards my hand until when I stopped using Mana it stood still being obediently held by my fingers.

I looked at the phone and put it on my head. Looking around I saw a baseball I used to relieve boredom.

'Afferte.' This time I tried to do the spell by just saying his name mentally, but I didn't feel any difference.

With the ball in my hand, I threw it forward and tried to use the spell with my left hand this time.

'Afferte.' I repeated the command mentally, but ordered my Mana to go to the clock to use the spell, just like I saw Elena did, but to my surprise I didn't see any difference either.

Do these restrictions of having to say the spell out loud and having to use a Conductor apply to me?

After some testing I realized that this really doesn't apply to me, which I was pleasantly surprised.

It's not like I'm going to complain about it.

The streaming programs were installed and it took me just a few minutes to finally set everything up.

I didn't worry about getting a nice overlay or a very elaborate design for the stream, since my focus was only on high level gameplay, that kind of thing was superfluous for anyone who was there for this type of content, not to mention that that would need money invested and a lot of time to get ready, which I don't currently have.

But I didn't worry about that.

I just started looking for some Fortnite tournaments that would take place tonight and started signing up for ones I could participate in.

The prize for each was just $100 for the first place each, adding the two together would make $200 in total.

This might seem like very little money compared to the big tournament prizes, but for someone like me, if I managed to win 2 tournaments like this a day it would be $6,000 every month, which would help me buy at least 6 mana stones.

The registration was made and there were 4 hours left for the first tournament to start. I used this time to prepare something to eat and recover the Mana I spent during the day.

When the tournament was just 1 hour away I finally hit the start stream button and decided to play some warm up games to try and get an audience.

I'm lucky that my account on the livestreams site is quite old, I got a very rare name, having only 3 letters, the first 3 letters of my name, so my channel was pretty easy to find.

'I hope at least 3 people watch my stream on the first day, if I can win 3 people I'll be satisfied.' I thought excitedly.

But little did I know how wrong I would be at the end of the night.
