My Ex-wife Is Beautiful After Divorce

What a coincidence. Song Nian and Qi Yu happened to be getting a divorce on Valentine's Day.

There was a long queue at the marriage counter of the Civil Affairs Bureau. In comparison, the divorce counter appeared quiet and lonesome. Seeing this, the corners of Song Nian's mouth twitched. She felt a little helpless.

The date of the divorce was chosen quite well. There was no need to queue.

Qi Yu arrived slightly later than Song Nian. Song Nian saw him as soon as he entered the door. Song Nian couldn't help but feel proud of herself regarding the divorce. Although she wasn't the one who asked for it, she didn't pester him or delay the divorce. She simply agreed to sign the papers and go through with the procedures.

Even if it was a breakup, Song Nian had to preserve her dignity.

Qi Yu walked over to Song Nian and frowned out of habit, "How long have you been waiting?"

Song Nian smiled, "It's been quite some time. I wasn't expecting you to be late."

Qi Yu said apologetically, "There was a last-minute meeting at the company, so I'm sorry for the delay."

Song Nian waved her hand magnanimously, "It's fine. There's no one at the counter. You can go back to work once you're done with the paperwork."

The pair had already signed the divorce papers. Qi Yu was quite generous. He gave her quite a bit of his assets and even gave her some company shares. He also transferred real estate to her name.

They didn't have any children, so there was no custody issue. There was no objection to the division of assets, so the divorce process was quickly completed. The marriage certificate was taken away, and the divorce certificate was issued to the two of them.

Song Nian looked down for a long time absentmindedly. The divorce was so quick. Just like when they got married, it was done in a few minutes.

Unfortunately, getting married was easy, but being in love was not.

Song Nian knew very well that Qi Yu did not love her, so when Qi Yu asked for a divorce, she was only stunned for a moment before agreeing. She knew that trying hard for someone who did not love her was no use. She would be better off letting go when she could. She had never been the type to cry and beg. 

Qi Yu likewise looked at the divorce certificate for a long time before he stood up and said to Song Nian, "It's getting late. Shall we have lunch together?"

Song Nian sorted out her emotions and smiled, "Sure, let's treat it as a farewell dinner."

Qi Yu stared at her for a while before he turned around and walked out. Hiding in a corner that Qi Yu couldn't see, Song Nian let out a long sigh and suppressed the complicated emotions in her heart before she stood up and followed him out.

The pair had chosen a five-star restaurant nearby. Qi Yu was rather ceremonial.

Song Nian felt uncomfortable. She took the menu from the waiter and glanced at the price from top to bottom. Then, she asked the person across from her, "This meal is on you, right?"

Qi Yu took out a cigarette and held it between his fingers. "You got a lot of money from the divorce. Do you have to be so stingy? Every month's share bonus is enough for you to splurge."

Song Nian slammed the menu shut, "Would you just tell me if this is your treat?"

Qi Yu smirked, "It's my treat."

Song Nian flipped open the menu again and waved at the waiter. "This row, and these. I want all the most expensive stuff here."

The waiter was stunned for a moment and went confirming, "This many? All of them?"

Qi Yu was lighting his cigarette with his lighter. He did not even look at what Song Nian had ordered and simply said, "Yes, all of them. Would you get them, please?"

The waiter smiled awkwardly, "Okay, please wait a moment."

Qi Yu lit his cigarette and took a puff before slowly exhaling a smoke ring. He looked at Song Nian for a good while before saying, "You haven't asked me why I wanted a divorced, have you?"

Song Nian raised her head, then relaxed her body and leaned back on the chair. She shook her head. "There's no need. You've wanted a divorce for a long time anyway."

She had already prepared herself for a divorce for some time, or rather, she had been prepared since the day they got married.

However, this day was still a little earlier than she had expected. It had only been a month since Grandpa Qi passed away, and Qi Yu couldn't help it anymore.

Qi Yu was surprised by Song Nian's response. He was stunned for a moment and didn't continue the topic. He put out his cigarette with the ashtray at the side and chatted with her like a friend, "So, what are your plans next?"
