Chapter 17

Jazzy would be thinking I'm already asleep but I wasn't rather, I was being cleared from my doubts.

"You should have told me earlier about your sister, you never once mentioned her to me", I complained.

"I'm sorry for causing you such a pain"

"Apology not accepted", I said lying on the bed concentrating on my phone.

"You will accept soon but there's something I need to know", he said forcing me to sit up on the bed.

"What's that?", curiosity drawn all over my face.

"When did you fall in love with me?", he asked putting on his enchanting smile. I didn't know he'd ask such a question so it made me shy to answer. I didn't know how to look at him in the face to reply but one way or the other, I had to answer him.

"I don't know… maybe the first time you gave me a good morning kiss on my forehead ", I shrugged. He looked confused maybe because he didn't know I saw him that day.

"You mean …after that attack", he asked trying to put his thoughts together which made me laugh at his silly behavior. "Wait… were you awake during that time?", he asked looking intently at me.

"Did you think I'd not find out… silly you"

"You are the silly one here", he scoffed and we both laughed . The room became quiet after the laughter died down but it seemed he was deep in thoughts.

"What's wrong?", I asked him bringing him back to the present.

"I'm just wondering where you were these past months ", I didn't know he'd bring it up and I didn't want to say anything about it since I was really happy with him now.

"It's nothing to worry about since we are happy together ", I said and turned to look in the direction of the door.

"I think I should know since I'm your boyfriend ", he said boldly. Was he serious. When did he become my boyfriend.

"The last time I checked, you never asked me to be your girlfriend so when did you become my boyfriend?", I said trying to change the topic of discussion. He knelt in front of me and held my chin so I could look at his face.

"Will you be my girlfriend?", he proposed. He was really amazing. How could he just propose while I was just kidding .

"Well , what else can I do than to accept this gentleman's proposal ", I said and he pulled me into his embrace.

"So now I'm your boyfriend, care to tell me where you were?", he was really taking things serious.

"I was with Scotts", I simply said. He gave me a confused look before I realized what I just said. It really didn't make sense.

"You were with Scotts?", he asked . Form the look on his face he needed further explanation of the short answer I just gave him. I positioned myself on the bed well and asked him to sit with me. I then began to narrate the whole incident to him and how I was able to escape that place.

He looked so furious and scary after I was done explaining my story. It was the first time I saw him like that so I was scared of what he might do next. He got up in haste and headed towards the door but I was fast enough to stop him.

"Where do you think you are going?", I questioned him.

"He had no right to touch you", he managed to speak in his angry state.

"That's not for you to decide Aikens, besides it's too late. Let's talk about it tomorrow ", I said trying to calm him down.

"I'd be in my room then", he said after heaving a sigh of relief.

"Just stay with me for the night", I was afraid he'd do something silly when I let him out of my sight. He agreed after contemplating for a while. I walked him back to the bed and I laid down in his arms quietly till morning.
