I didn't want to be the reason why someone who treated me with care and love to be heartbroken so I needed to put my feelings aside.

"Can you make things clearer?", Aikens asked trying to understand what I meant.

"I do love you but I don't want to hurt Jazzy", I finally said.

"And in what way are you going to hurt the young lady if I may ask?", he was being sarcastic.

"How do you expect her to accept this situation when you want to break up with her?", I asked back.

"Break up with who? Who am I dating?"

"Ain't you guys dating? I mean you and Jazzy", I asked and he burst out laughing after looking confused. I didn't get what was funny for him to burst out laughing in the middle of a serious conversation.

"So that's what's going on in your mind?", he asked after his laughter died out.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that, you were behaving that way because you think Jazzy is my girlfriend ?"

"Why else do you think I was acting like that? Now that you know can we go our separate ways?"

"Ooops, sorry to disappoint you but Jazzy isn't my girlfriend ". I was confused about what he was saying, if she isn't his girlfriend then what is she doing in his house.

"If she isn't your girlfriend then who is she?", I couldn't hide my curiosity .

"Well, she's my little sister", he scoffed.

"What? .., Jazzy is your … your sister??

"Yeah, do you have any problem with that?

"Why did t you tell me earlier, I almost died of heart attack?"

"Silly girl, you didn't even want to look at me", he pinched my cheek.

"But you guys could have done something for me to know you were not dating",I tried to put the blame on him.

"Something like what?, we are usually like that so now that you know , you should t let jealousy eat you up",he teased.

"But where has she been all this while and what is she doing here now?", I just wanted to know .

"She was in Canada but she's on a vacation so she decided to come see her first boyfriend ", he said winking at me.

"Which boyfriend?", I gave him a threatening look.

"The handsome guy sitting just beside you of course "

"Have I ever hit you since we knew each other?

"I'm sorry ma'am, just a slip of tongue "

"Better", I said and we both laughed. We chatted for a long time without realizing it was so late. I should have known earlier that Jazzy was my future sister in law, it was such a relief for hearing it. I was just bloating for nothing, such a waste of energy
