The punishment of that fat king was disgusting, forced to sleep in a shitty forest where ticks, fleas and all sorts of nasty bugs and insects double the size of our world were constantly biting and infesting our tents and bedrolls. I hadn't gotten a decent night's sleep since coming here.

"It must be great being the hero—none of the bugs or monsters approach you while sleeping! Ha!" I grumbled, forcing myself to swallow the thick and chunky bowl of flavourless slop.

If there was one thing I regret... It's calling my mother's food nasty; at least she would stand there all morning doing her best...

Mom, your fried eggs and tomato rice were the best... Forgive your stupid son!

Today was the day we would start the attack on the enemy, which was both exciting and terrifying after seeing the mangled and burned corpses a few days ago...
