A CASE AGAINST EMILIA

Half an hour later, Jojie arrived to spend time with Neon once again. When she got inside the house, Belle was stunned to see the woman and vice versa. 

"You didn't go to work?" Jojie asked when she recovered her senses. "Where's Neon? I promised that we would have a video call with Andrei today." 

"Neon is upstairs. Will you be staying for the whole day?" 

"That's the plan." 

Belle fiddled with her fingers while slowly approaching Eli's mom. She was embarrassed to ask her for a favor since her relationship with Eli was fake, but she was left with no other choice this time. "Auntie, can you stay with Neon for a while? I just need to go to the police station for a while." 

"Why? What happened?" Jojie pulled Belle to have a seat on the couch and talk properly with her. "Is this related to your godmother? Sorry if I come off as intrusive. Eli told me a little about your brother to make sure that I won't say or do something that could hurt him."
