Prologue -1

Luna woke up on the empty highway. The rain seemed to have stopped and the gangsters looking for her were nowhere around. Sitting up, she looked around, her eyes widening in shock.

The rain... didn't stop but froze with raindrops still in the air. She touched a drop, which popped and drizzled into water at her touch. Luna gasped moving back and her action disturbed a few more drops lightly wetting her body. Her eyes then landed on the gangsters who were a mile away from her.

"Why aren't they chasing me?" She wondered, gulping at the change of instances. She got up in confusion and bit her lips anxiously when nothing seemed right in her surroundings.

This pity soul, was unaware of the fact that the time was ceased just like in those fantasy novels.

A minute later, a beam of light diverged from a distant in that dark night and she squinted her eyes at it's vibrance. A loud horn was heard making Luna gulp in fear at that weird noise which was something like that of... ghost cry? She stumbled back in shock, reaching the left edge of the road as a bus suddenly stopped right in front of her, within a flash of second!

The door opened and a short man wearing ragged clothes and a wizard hat stood on the last step of the bus. Scrunching his eyes, he adjusted his glasses and scanned her face, "LUNA?" He exclaimed and Luna instantly nodded, relieved that someone recognized her and might as well help her if she begged.

"But your face..." Pulling his glasses to the peak of his nose, he skimmed her face taking out a magnifying glass from his pocket.

"She is already transmigrated! Quick Transmigration!" A voice came from inside maybe of the driver but she couldn't understand it. Trans? Migration? What was that now? A new slang?

Pushing aside her shaken thoughts, Luna pleaded, "Some men are chasing me! Can you please help me? I will pay you whatever amount you demand!"

The wizard chuckled shaking his head and he nodded, gesturing her to come inside. Luna nodded in gratitude and hurriedly rushed inside. He smiled as she sat on the nearest seat, poor girl, she wasn't still aware of her own death!

"Okay! We have picked the last soul! Let's ride to the After-Life Palace Major!" The wizard announced, walking towards the driving station and then he added, "Hold tight everyone! This will be your most adventurous ride!"

"Everyone? I am the only one here!" Luna murmured looking around in confusion. Oh wait, she couldn't see the ghosts who were travelling along with her!

"But, what was that? How did the rain," She thought which got interrupted by the scenes around. Looking at the gangsters who were standing aside the two edges of the road, she instantly bent down to hide from another disaster. As the bus crossed, she peeked back at them, her mind dazing at the scene.

Why weren't they moving? They stood there like statues and that puzzled her.

But, right at the moment, the bus started moving up; Yes, up in the air!

Wait, how was it flying? She freaked again as it throwed her to the other side of the bus while taking a rough turn.

"Ahhh!" Luna screamed when she hit the window as it suddenly went down on the streets in the middle of a buzzing traffic.

"I warned to hold tight!" The wizard mumbled looking at her through the rear view mirror and shook his head.

And that wasn't the end, the bus squeezed, moving faster amidst the traffic, wait it was an motionless traffic with vehicles and people static in their own places.

What the hell was happening here?

But her thoughts mixed up as she was being thrown apart, showing her the every corner of that bus. And as the ride continued, the bus sometimes got shorter squeezing her body and sometimes jumped like a rabbit gearing up her motion sickness!

After almost a few minutes of that one hell ride, the bus stopped and she was thrown out of the door, her mind still dazing in a puzzle of questions.

"Wh-wha-what was that?" Luna questioned closing her mouth as a chirr twirled in her stomach.

"Sorry, sweetie! We cannot pause the time any longer. Get inside the gates, you will get your answers!" The wizard replied peeking out of the window and the bus drove off, invisible the very next moment.

The huge gates opened and the ghosts, her co-travelers walked inside, except for Luna who walked towards the wall. Placing a hand on it for support, she bent down to throw out everything because of that crazy roller coaster ride!

"Ugh Ugh ugh!" After a moment of relaxation, her throat went dry, nose and ears still flaring up with a weird intensity.

"Water," She quivered and walked inside to find some, her mind now in a puzzle. The things happening around weren't something she could digest, considering how much of a normal human she was, with zero knowledge of rebirth and other supernatural words.

Arriving in front of the large curved steps of that mansion, what it looked like, a tired sigh left her mouth and she walked up towards those big doors. And when she finally reached the last step, she looked up, only to fall back freaking out loud and same was the reaction of the cat wearing a pair of pink glasses and a adorable pink hat. It immediately ran inside, with its two legs! Yes, just like a human, scaring the shit out of her.

What was this bloody damn place? And what was happening to her?

Soon a couple, around 60 in age ran outside hearing the news of an alive human entering this restricted place.

"OMG OMG, she is really a human!" The grandpa was the first to shriek out loud as the kitten hid behind his leg. "I told you!" It added in it's feminine cat voice.

Stomping on his leg, the granny pulled his ear and whispered, "She is the one!" When he scratched his head in confusion, she added pulling his ear harder than before, "Lord Kaden's girl. For whom he stopped the time earlier!"

"Ohh, she is the one!" The gramps mused in, massaging his aching ear and she sighed shaking her head, he sure had dementia or whatever those humans called it.

Looking at the girl, she pursed her lips and walked towards her. Squatting down, she helped Luna to stand straight.

"Come inside." She smiled, holding Luna's trembling body and helped her walk inside.

Luna gasped looking at the medieval exquisite place, every corner of that what looked like a palace was grand and classy but the computer desk and piles of the book on its table in the corner, confused her. The whole hall was covered in the large racks of books reaching the ceiling and those were the human history records to be precise.

"Sit!" Helping her to sit on the first bench to the corner side, the couple walked to the front, the woman sat in front of the old computer model while the man stood in front of them.

He snapped his fingers, twice and the lights turned off one by one. Soon, candles from no where lit up in the air.

Luna widened her mouth looking up at those magical candles.

"Congratulations, you guys have completed this lifetime! I am ThunderBill, the keeper of Afterlife gates." The grandpa greeted everyone with a smile, his hands crossed behind his back.

'ThunderBill, what a weird name!' Luna thought ignoring his first line, as he continued, "First, we will proceed with the questions, if you have any!"

Suddenly the whole place got filled with people, wait ghosts who were now visible to her!

"They are the souls, who died and are in the process of reincarnation." ThunderBill cleared Luna's doubt, who looked at the wispy girl sitting beside her, completely visible yet translucent!

"You mean to say ghosts?" Luna questioned, receiving deathly glares but she looked at ThunderBill for an answer.

"Souls is... Ugh ugh... a more dignified word." His wife sitting beside answered, clearing her throat awkwardly.

"Yes, any questions?" He changed the topic and a soul raised its hand, who in fact was a 12 year old boy.

"Are you a Grim Reaper?"

Shaking his head with a smile, ThunderBill answered, "They come below us. They are the ones who will pull out your soul and escort you to the after-life chambers, where we the keepers instruct you about the further process of rebirth!"

"You guys are around the world?" Another questioned came the from a teen, who sat in the last row.

"Since people die around the world, we work everywhere just like humans!" ThunderBill answered her with a smile.

After a minute when all seemed settled, he continued, "Since there are no more questions around. Let me elaborate,"

"Wait Wait Wait!" Luna who was till now busy admiring the nooks and corners of that beautiful treasure, moved back her eyes to ThunderBill and asked, "You mean to say I am dead like them?"

She asked coming back to reality from her own world of thoughts. Realizing the same, she closed her mouth in shock, a surprise shriek left her mouth making everyone stare at her. Even her fellow companions were confused about her death as she looked completely normal.

Whereas ThunderBill could only nod while his wife sighed, shaking her head, she continued to work on the old computer box. She was least interested in explaining the whole process, not when this girl was Lord Kaden's guest!
