Crazy Meets Crazy.

SKY's POV

Stuff happens.

Sometimes unexpected things and events happen, leaving you confused. You get terrified, other times, happy and high. But my stupid heart was different, it did none of that. It just melted at the sight of him.

His jaw clenched and his eyebrows arched. He clenched his fist as he peered at me.

"What is wrong with you crazy woman? Why the f**k would you throw eggs at me? Are you nuts?" he said to my face.

His eyebrows appeared perfect and thicker than in my dreams, his brown curly hair neatly kept. He seemed like a better version of himself in my dream. However, one thing did not change. His eyes were still sad.

Did he just call me crazy? Who the hell does he think he is? He just pissed me off. Look at the idiot my heart just melted for.

"How dare you call me a crazy woman, you idiot," I said, eyebrows arched, tilting my head a bit to the right. The hallway was empty and I could hear my voice echo.

"Idiot?" He seethed through his teeth, his eyebrow furrowing as he shook his head. “Idiot?” He repeated, his eyes burning with anger.

"I should be the one saying that young lady. Are you freaking nuts? Who throws eggs in a mall? And also at a stranger, she's never met? Or are you... Oh no," he said, twirling his right index finger around his ears.

Fuck! I just met you half-naked this morning in my dreams. I did not say that.

"What?" I shook my head in awe. "And who also speeds in a mall like an idiot? My very rare fish. No. My extinct fish almost fell to the ground because of you" I said, emphasizing the rare and extinct.

"And you think it was me?" he said shaking his head, "Why would you even think that?"

"Because the idiot was in the exact attire you are wearing"

He was so unbelievable.

He gave out a loud sigh and said; "Can I see the fish?"

I moved my hands back and forth contemplating whether to give it out or not. I handed it over. Then with a thud, it happened.

The glass shattered into a million tiny pieces as the water splashed all over the floor, leaving the fish wiggling haphazardly. The idiot dropped it. Oh my heart.

He sure is an idiot. My extinct fish. The hex of England. The same fish the grandfather of the grandfather of Alexandra's grandfather said possessed magic.

"It slipped, sorry. I'm so sorry" he said as a smirk formed on his face. "But the good news is, we are now even. I mean my very rare self is covered in eggs and your very rare fish are well, right there" he continued the silly smirk still plastered on his face.

I knelt on my knees as I picked my backpack from the shopping cart. I placed the backpack near me and opened up the zip. I brought out the glass that contained the turtle and placed it next to my backpack.

I picked up the fish from the ground as they gasp for... I guess water.

I placed them in the other glass vase with the turtle and put them back in my backpack. I got up and the idiot still stood in front of me with a smirk on his face.

"You must love fish," he said.

I breathed in and out at my own pace, steading my breath. He was so annoying and he was hitting my every spot.

I shot him a murderous glare and kicked him in his member. I saw a sign on the wall that said exit. Luckily no one paid attention to us. The hallway was almost empty.

I pushed my shopping cart toward the exit as I left him groaning in pain.

JAMAL's POV

This was so annoying. My body reeked of eggs. I dashed into the staff bathroom of the hills mall and I began to strip.

There are so many crazy people in the world nowadays. She should be receiving treatment instead of lurking around the mall.

My white shirt was stained with egg yolk. I unbuttoned my shirt and pulled it off my body. I washed the eggs out of my hair and dress. I looked in the mirror and I still looked like a zombie.

She is mad. No normal person would throw twelve eggs at one person.

I stripped out of my clothes and took a shower. I went to my staff locker and flung it open. A picture of my mum greeted me. And, it motivated me all over again. I still had a spare THM customized outfit for emergencies like this.

I walked out of the bathroom after changing into my spare cloth. And I went back to work. I lurked around the mall unstacking expired products and products close to their expiring date. I stocked my basket full of milk which was due to expire in two weeks. I scanned the shelves as I strolled with the basket in my hands.

"Jamal,” a female staff member called from behind. I turned around and I was face to face with her.

"Are you Jamal?" she asked, tilting her head a little to the left.

"Yes, I'm Jamal," I said, forcing a smile on my face.

"The manager wants to see you".

"Why?" I asked, "Why would the manager call for me?"

The manager was an old grumpy man who scared the hell out of me. I avoided every possible contact and encounter with him. And now he wants to see me.

She shrugged and said: "I don't know. But he wants you in his office now". She walked away leaving me in my thoughts.

I knocked on the door twice and entered the manager's office. Music buzzed out of the office as I entered.

I don't know if hell is certain

But I pray that you'll be burning

You treated me just like a vermin

Fuck you for this lifelong burden

I can't succeed

Without remembering what you did to me

I can't forgive

You should've never fucking let me live

The lyrics were so creepy and the manager nodded rhythmically to the song with his eyes fixed on his computer screen.

"You are here," the manager said, his voice hoarse. His focus was on the screen and he gestured to me to come closer. I paced towards him. He pointed to the screen when I was close enough to see what his focus was fixed on.

"What is the meaning of this?" he said, his hands still pointing at the computer screen. I watched and it was a CCTV footage of me and the crazy woman. I kept my mouth shut.

"You have to tell me something. What is the meaning of this?" he asked again, his tone stricter.

"I'm so sorry, Sir. It will never happen again," I said, wincing a bit.

"You don't need to apologize, you are already fired," he said, still nodding rhythmically to the weird music.

"But sir, I need this job?" I said.

"You should have thought of that when you were treating a customer like that. What is our number one code of ethics here? The customer is always right. And you still decided to do whatever you want. You are fired, young man. Return your tag and all company items. You can leave now," he said, raising his voice at the end of every statement he made.

"Okay, Sir," I said as I walked out of the office. I was now a jobless young man. Because of some crazy lady.

later in the evening

My bed creaked as I settled on it. I scanned around my entire apartment. From where I stood, I could see everything in the house. I stripped my shirt off my body. The heat was so unbearable and my stupid standing fan wouldn't work. I took out my phone for an email I was expecting and it wasn't here yet.

I took about three steps and I was already in front of my fridge. I brought out the leftover rice from three days, microwave it and hastily dug into it.

I lost my job because of a madwoman, it infuriated me so much. The more I thought of it, the more infuriated I got as I shoved the rice hastily into my mouth.

My phone beeped and I took it out of my pocket. I checked the notification and it was just my E-bank statement. I had just 500 cedis left in my account. I was broke. I searched my room for any change and all I had left was 50 cedis.

I scrolled through my email and prayed that it'll be here soon. There was just a day left and it still wasn't here. I stayed up until 10 pm and it still wasn't here.

Maybe I wasn't meant for things like this. Maybe it was never going to happen. Maybe I was being punished for everything I had done.

My bed creaked as I jumped into it. I took off my trousers leaving me in my boxers. I slowly shut my eyes but I couldn't drift to sleep. I kept checking my phone every ten seconds.

I sat up on the bed, staring at my phone screen. Then my phone screen finally lit up with a beep exactly at 11 20 pm.

I opened the email notification.

"Sorry for the delay, Jamal Jackson. You've been accepted..."

It was finally here. My first chance in atoning for my sin.
