Chapter 7

[ 3rd POV ]

Yin stared at the waving tree leaves that swayed with the morning breeze, before sitting up and slowly crawling to the tree trunk where she rested her back against it, she closed her eyes and leaned her head against the tree. Footsteps brushed the grass as she felt someone sit beside her.

Opening her eyes she glanced to her right, finding Yang sitting next to her with a tired smile. Watching Yang resting beside her made her realize how small she was as she barely reached her shoulder.

With a tired sigh, Yin closed her eyes to relax while hearing the faint chatter of Qrow and Tai. Yang seeing Yin relaxing against the tree let herself fall to the side, her head landing on the small girl's lap making Yin stop breathing and go completely still.

" eh? Yang, what are you doing? " Yin asked, barely moving.

Yang didn't respond, instead relaxing further. Yin was going to ask again but before she could Qrow appeared in her vision.

" Where did you learn how to fight like that? " Qrow asked while standing in front of Yin.

' Very few can use the scythe at that level, and fewer can teach it ' Qrow thought, waiting for the response of the girl.

" I'm self-taught, " Yin responded meekly.

" Are you now? " Qrow said before walking away.

Yin seeing Qrow leave, turned her attention to the resting girl on her lap, which was currently lying on her side, her hair covering most of her head as it seemed to sway slightly by a subtle breeze. Reaching out, Yin slowly uncovered her face, tucking her hair behind her ear. Smiling, Yin began to stroke Yang's head carefully while her tails moved to lie on her waist.

" Breakfast is ready, come inside! " Tai yelled from the door of the house.

Ruby instantly stood up grabbing the stored crescent rose with her, making her way to the door she turned around only to be the unmoving figures of Yin and Yang, running towards them she noticed the peaceful atmosphere radiating from them. Moving next to Yin she gently poked her shoulder.

" Hey~ Yin what are you doing? " Ruby whispered next to Yin's ear.

Yin was brought back by Ruby, realizing what she was doing started blushing, trying to escape the situation, she slowly picked up Yang's head intending to set it down on the ground, but before she could a hand grabbed her wrist.

Slowly opening her eyes Yang glanced at the blushing fox that was currently holding her head but stopped as soon as she grabbed her wrist.

" Where are you going? " Yang asked tiredly.

" I-I e-ehhh I-I'm going… " Yin seemed to stutter endlessly as she tried to explain herself.

Yang stared amused by the actions of the girl, how her eyes darted around each time she repeated herself, small beads of sweat formed on her forehead while her eyes became more unfocused.

" Let's go already, breakfast is ready," Ruby said with a small giggle.

Sighing in relief and thanking Ruby on her head she came back from her trance, meanwhile, Yang rose from Yin's lap with a yawn, letting go of her wrist in the process she stood up and headed to the house slightly stretching her arms in the process.

Meanwhile, Yin had difficulty getting up as her legs had gone numb, she slowly stood up following Ruby inside.

As the food was being served, Yin glanced around the room. A large yellow rug decorated the floor on it sat a wooden dining table with a table runner of the same color, and a green bowl containing fruits rested on it, a pair of chairs with green cushions where Yang and Ruby sat, she was sitting next to Yang on an extra chair that had, matching the other two.

The sound of the plates hitting the table brought Yin back to reality, looking at her plate it contained two fried eggs with toast.

" Have you ever thought of becoming a huntress? " Qrow asked as he leaned on the kitchen counter.

" I never thought of becoming one, I'm still too young to be one anyway " Yin responded while loosely picking up a piece of toast.

" eh? I thought you were already training to become one " Ruby spoke out 

" ah, not any official training, as I said before I'm self-taught," Yin said as she slowly ate a fried egg.

" You should join Beacon when you can, I'm sure they'll accept you," Yang said, leaning back on her chair.

" Maybe but I'm not sure they would accept someone without official training from a combat school," Yin let out.

' I know they accepted Blake but I'm not sure they would accept me in the same way, less now that I'm not old enough ' Yin thought.

" I still need a weapon. Do you know anyone that could help me make one? " Yin asked everyone in the room.

" I can! " Ruby yelled, getting out of her seat with a jump.

Ruby proceeds to run toward Yin, grabbing her by the collar and taking her out of the room, which was left in complete silence.

As the sun made its journey across the sky, a normally calm day turned upside down, two small figures constantly ran around a large two-story cabin with a third larger one following in pursuit behind them. Later on through the window, two small figures are seen talking, one more excited than the other as it hopped around with paper in her hands.

Later when the sun was finishing his journey the moon started hers, and a problem arose in the cabin.

" Sooo… where am I sleeping, " Yin asked, making Yang and Ruby stop suddenly, and causing Yin to crash into their backs.

The two sisters looked at each other, the staring contest commenced and if someone was perspective enough one could see how they were having a conversation with their eyes, they slowly closed their eyes and turned back looking directly at the girl behind them who had a confused expression.

They slowly approached her, making the girl instinctively take a step back. Yang and Ruby shot toward Yin, each taking one arm.

" What's happ- " Yin tried to ask 

" Come on Ruby! " Yang let out, slightly pulling on Yin's arm.

" No way! I want a hug pillow! " Ruby let out, also tugging on Yin's arm.

" Raphael help, what do I do " Yin whispered, as she was constantly moved from side to side.

[ … Good luck ]

' What do you mean!? Hey Raphael! '

" Why don't we just join the beds and sleep altogether? " Yin let out, causing Yang and Ruby to stop tugging Yin.

Yang and Ruby looked at each other,  and then at the girl between them, a smile appeared on their faces as they pulled Yin towards their bedroom. 

Yin was staring at the roof as she was constantly squished by the two girls at her sides, Ruby was hugging two tails and using them as a pillow as she laid her head on top of one, on the other hand, Yang was using the remaining tail as a pillow while hugging the body of the girl, her head resting on top of the girls head causing her ears to twitch at the slightest movement.

Yin was contemplating what would she do in the future, would she change the plot completely or let it play out and intervene when necessary she liked the second idea better as she could enjoy her time in this world without constantly moving from one enemy to the other, in the attempt to save the world.

Deciding on picking later she snuggled closer to Yang causing the girl to hug her bringing her closer to her body. With a smile Yin let her tiredness take over making her fall asleep in a few seconds.

( A / N Hello everyone, sorry for not posting this week, it has been a super busy one, next week will probably be the same as this, but passing next week the updates will continue as normal.

Anyways the weapon for the MC is still in question but when I had free time I was able to design two weapon concepts for the MC based on a suggestion one of you said.
