1 Our Fateful Encounter

Staring from a distance, I couldn't dare just approach him without taking a few deep breaths. He was pale, tall and handsome. Rich too, judging from the suit he had on right now. While he looked over the menu, I looked him over. I couldn't quite see how muscular he was past the suit, but he sure was fit looking. It must of been minutes I zoned out in my mind with him and didn't realize I had been staring for so long. I stood up and crossed the room with all the confidence I had until I was only feet from him. Aware of my presence, he looked up at me with those beautiful dark eyes and my mind went black.

"Can I service you?"

I watched him raise an eyebrow at me while I felt like an idiot. It probably just sounded like I had offered him some sort of sexual favor.

"I'm sorry, let me try again. How can I help you?" I felt my cheeks going red and didn't manage to make eye contact for a good second.

"You recognize me?" He smiled a smirk that would haunt my dreams. I managed to nod.

"No, I don't. Are you some sort of tycoon or something?"

"Something like that, I guess." He laughed while folding his menu to put it away. "Can I have a coffee? And maybe your name?"

"Its Adrie." I said looking at him over my shoulder as I walked away.

I felt him watching me the whole time while I made him drink and brought it to him.

"Thanks. Look, you really don't know who I am?"

"Like I said, no. Are you the King of Egos?"

"No, I just. . . Wanted the opinion of someone who doesn't know my story."

"Okay. I'm quite blunt though so ask at your own risk." Quickly eyeing the restaurant it was mostly empty since the lunch rush had ended so I guessed I could spare a minute or two.

"So I guess you can imagine I have some money. My parents want me to marry someone who is not exactly what I consider to be marriage material."

"Why would your parents want to marry someone who isn't marriage material?" I took the seat across the table from him watching him add sugar and little cream to his coffee never taking his eyes off his stirring.

"Well, they want me to marry this girl cause she's got money like me and it would be considered normal I guess where I'm from."

"You should marry for love, not money. It seems money isn't something you lack." I added pointing to the silver Rolex on his wrist. I was met with a smile that almost made me blush again.

"Thanks. I agree. She isn't. . . not marriage material I guess. She doesn't want the same things as I do in life."

"Like what? She wants kids and you don't?" I questioned.

"Just the opposite."

I smiled. "You want kids?"

"2. Maybe 3."

"3 only if you have 2 of the same gender already." I laughed expecting to be met with his laughter too, but instead he starred at me with an intensity that made me shiver and shift in my seat.

"I hope I've been of some help but uhm, I've got to get back to work." I went to stand when he grabbed my wrist.

"Wait, help me more. Let me pick your mind when your off work?"

"I'm not off until 11." I said thinking that would be enough to detour him as I stood up.

"Okay. I'll send my driver. Thank you, Adrie."

"Sure, uhm. Come to think of it, I didn't get your name."

"Nope. No preconceived notions, remember? I'll see you tonight." He stood took his coffee cup, but left an 100 on the table.

"Wait, driver?"
