Ambient Noise

Gasping, I struggled to catch my breath while running around the road as it had started to snow.

Sliding when I turned the corner, my head was in a haze after having seen Rins home covered in police tape. Rushing home, I did not hesitate to burst through the front door while going into my room. Panicked, I looked for one of my camping back packs in the closet that I had rarely used and threw it on.

Ignoring the distant voice that came fro Mirana, I rushed past her without a second thought and opened my phone to continue to call Rin.

~

Rushing around the neighborhood where Rin lived, I asked around and got the same, shrugging reply that they only knew something happened a while ago.

After searching for information on what happened, I stopped at the police station and asked about Rin and her family. Being told they knew next to nothing as well, I was feeling uneasy as something bad might have happened to Rin.

When I walked inside her home, I saw it was a mess as if a tornado had passed through. Scratches all over the wooden floors and a terrible sight of dry drops of blood, 'the possibility of murder was a possibility', so said the police department.

However, Rin and her family had gone missing and vanished withiut a trace as all that was left was what was inside the living room.

~

After much pondering, I sniffed up my nose and stood up as the need to find Rin was my main focus.

Closing my eyes, I took a step back and raised my hands close together. Sharolh opening them, a burst of shining colors escaped from the strands of my hair as I began creating a powerful thread that would lead me to Rin at the cost of my body's energy.

Pira had told me that to be careful as in creating a thread would inevitably strain my body to its limits. Ignoring the Sharp pains all over my body, I picked up my bag and rushed off into the street where I followed the paper thin thread only I could see.

~

Having to stop after an hour of chasing, I caught my breath while coughing up streams of blood. Looking forward, I lenaed off the small bus post in the middle of the countryside and pushed on as the thread took me into the forests above the mountain side.

Collapsing almost instantly as I reached the tree line, I struggled to breath as my vision became clouded with tears. Gaping my mouth, I choked on my own blood and in that moment, a mirror opened and from it, Pira shot out in a haze.

"Xie! " Lifting my hand towards her, I collapsed and into hat moment, Pira suddenly dropped down beside me. "Hold on... "

Tending to me with herbs from her palace, I wanted tossed top her as the effects for using them would bring the Pira great pain twice as worse as mine. Injecting the medicine onto my chest, I screamed out in pain as Pira gritted her teeth and bleed blue from the corner of her lip as she held in the screeching pain.

~

When I came to, I was resting up agaisnt a tree as I was covered in a light colored blanket. Pira had already gone back as I twirled my head and stood up while feeling the sharp sting of the affter-effects of the universe as it took a great deal out of me.

Lushinh forward, I headed up the mountain as I was no longer able used the thread colors to find Rin.

~

Searching all around for several hours, I eventually reached the mountian summit and there, I stopped at a strage wall of clear colors that reflected light. Walking up to it, I placed my hand on its unstable surface and slid through.

Once inside, I sharply turned and threw up as countless bodies of people were torn, ripped, and shredded everywhere. The smell had overwhelmed me and as a result, I panicked and nearly fainted as I caught myself.

Pushing forward and covering my face with my shirt, I moved around the fresh graveyard and looked for any trace of Rins s the thaight of her being here had made my vision blurr.

As I reached near the middle, I stopped to glance at a faint glimmer of light coming from under a pile of bodies. Realizing that I recognized that light, I quickly turned and pushed off the countless bodies until uncovering the source.

It was Mia, and as I lifted her out of the pile, I fell back and reilzied she was still ws and breathing. Sitting up and holding her head, I kissed her repeatedly while thanking her she was still alive.

After a cleaning Mia's face with some water, I set her beside a large tree as I continued to search for any trace of Rin. Having no clue what or where this was, my main priority was to find Rin and after, report what I found to the authorities.

Shifting through the blood filled pools, I was startled when Mia pushed me down and spoke with a faint voice.

"Xie... Xie, I... Rin is not... Here... " Sitting up, I held her pale and fragile thin body in my arms as she went on. "Rin is... "

Pointing upwards, I looked into the sky and shook my head as I didn't understand what she was saying. Mia then passed out from exhaustion and from that moment, I realized she needed to be taken to a hospital.

Lifting her up and carrying her outside, I used my power to create an animal of dim light as we traveled back to the city without delay.

~

Sitting inside the same police station I had asked about Rin before, stood two irritated police officers as they demanded answers after finding the mountain of bodies I reported an hour ago.

"Lets get this straight, you disappear for a few weeks, come back, and miraculously find an entire... Field of mutilated, human bodies!? "

Remaining silent, the other detective then took the officer out as they spoke outside.

Looking down at myself and blood soaked clothes, I began taking off my clothes as it felt unbearable.

As the officers walked back inside, I handed then my bloodied clothes while remaining in my underwater.

After getting a fresh set of clothes and an ear full from them, I sat down and told them I followed a series of clues that pointed to the mountian. Of course, being far from the truth, I had to lie as telling them about my power would only complicate matters even further.

Before long, they finally let me go and with it, I headed to the hospital where I stated beside Mia from behind a glass window. Resting my hand gently on the glass, I dropped my head and pressed it agaisnt the window as I felt terrible for leaving them.

Things were going well just before I left with Pira... I then began thinking if I had not met Pira, would I have needed up like Mia... Or worse.

Shaking the thought away from my head, I was here now and was going to do everything possible to keepia safe while figuring out where in the world Rin was.

It all didn't sink in as everything in my life had come and gone without any reason as if it was all played out by some twisted joke by fate.

Regardless, I was worried about what this all meant as so thing clearly wasn't right. All those people, Mia, and as well as finding Rin. It was all too much to take in as I sat downs and caught my breath. Ceritan there was something unnatural happening, it was up to me to get to the bottom of it should it be the last thing I do...
