7 Nostalgia: The Highs We Got When We Were Younger

Do you ever remember those moments when you were a kid when you'd swing on the swing or spin in circles nonstop? Do you remember that weird feeling you'd get when you did that?

It was like your brain was spinning and flying with you. And it felt good, really good. But the feeling when you do that is different now that you're older. Why is that?

Now it just makes you nauseous and yucky. What once made you feel joy now makes you feel sick to your stomach. It's gone just like the bliss you once had before you learned the truth about the world.

What made it change? Or is it just that we ourselves changed?

I mean think about it. We've all gotten a lot bigger and taller. Our vocabulary has grown. Heck! Even our voice is different now! We're not at all like we were as a kid. We've become a teen, an adult, or whatever you are right now.

Our life experiences have been piling up since those days at the playground. And they're only gonna get higher. So it makes sense that the high we got from spinning or swinging isn't enough anymore. Right?

Or maybe it's because, at some point in the past, you've gotten way higher than you once did, wether from drugs or alcohol or something else. So that old feeling just doesn't cut it anymore. It's like a tap compared to a gut punch. The difference gap is to large.

But now, even though it gets you nauseous or sick, you still want to do it. You want to feel the nostalgia, despite knowing the ugly gut feelings and consequences it'll bring you. You'll endure it for the sake of trying to remember how life was as a kid.

But you aren't anymore are you? No. You're not. You're a grown up. And you'll never be the same again...
