15 The 'Talk'

Lucas took me outside towards the gardens in the Black estate. So, We could talk without having his mother interrupt us. I searched for the right words to say to him. I thought it would be easy telling him that I couldn’t be with him because I was in love with someone else. But, now that we were face to face. I realized how hard it was; telling someone that the person, they thought they were fated to spend the rest of their life with, didn’t really want to be with them.

To break the awkward silence looming between us. Lucas decided to speak first,‘’ What is it that you wanted to talk about? If it’s about my mother then you don’t have to worry. I know she can be a little intense at times but things will get better once you both get to know each other’’.

‘’A little? That’s putting it mildly but don’t worry, It’s not about her. It’s actually about us.’’

‘’Us? Now I am intrigued.’’
