1 Astrid the Otaku
[Authors Note: highly suggest you read prologue, really important to the story in the future]
Astrid thought being a single was bad enough. Now, he even had to die for it.
It all started when he almost died from a heart attack while watching anime. Astrid lives in Cratos, the hot drop for all types of things. In every direction, there were skyscrapers, luxury shops, and most importantly...beauties of every type imaginable!
How was he going to get a girlfriend! Lets not side track and get to the beginning.

'Wow, this is so good! Almost 500 episodes for it to end, but is was damn good!' thought Astrid.
Astrid was a waste of space otaku. All he did was eat, watch, game, sleep, and repeat! He never did anything productive. The one talent he had was that he could spit fire, burn others hopes and dreams with words! This is how he had 1568 wins in Fork Knife.
"Well then, I should search for a new anime." he said as he went through dusty chip packets and instant noodle cups to reach the remote, stretching his body, but stretching a fat body can only lead to a bad thing.
"Hey, why is it hurting near my heart, ah, it hurts! Ow, AHAHHA!" Astrid started screaming. He was having a heart attack! Pain or discomfort filled the left-center of his chest. This pain ranged from mild to severe. He felt a tightness, fullness, heavy pressure, crushing, and squeezing on his heart. It was tortuous, the most pain he had felt in his life! It was as if his heart was eating itself over and over again.
'It was bad enough that I would die without an ability, but did I have to die while watching anime!' he thought as he slowly sank into a giant pitch black void. All was left was his soul, bearing his pitiful memories and experiences.
Then, a beautiful women started to reach out towards him. She could only be described as a goddess, a female of incredible beauty, grace and charm; a female deity.
"Do you want to go back, grow stronger, live the life you wanted!" a soothing feminine voice asked him.
"Yes!" his soul answered, this wasn't something he could lie about as his soul was the one that was talking
Soon the black void faded away and a he rose from his bed in shock, sweating buckets.
"Huff, Huff, Huff," he gasped for air. "What was that! Who was she! Did I really die in such a pitiful way?" he asked out loud.
[Congratulations! You have been judged to possess the worst destiny with women]
He responded, "How is that worthy of congratulations? I'm already at rock bottom, and now even ghosts are taking shots at me?!?"

His ears perked up when he heard that. "What! I got an ability! For real?!? Yes! My time has arrived!"

Astrid froze with his fists still in the air. "Can you repeat that?"
[One month. get, or die]
His excitement degenerated into desperation. "What the hell...how? I'm a single otaku in the city of Skyrim where beauties reside…"
After taking a minute to calm down, Astrid realized it wasn't as bad as he thought. "Ok, it's not impossible. It's Skyrim after all, so if I lower my standards to the absolute bottom, it should be doable."

"7+? You might as well tell me to seduce a goddess!"
[Maybe you will...]
"What!" Astrid yelled
[Nothing!]
Another minute later, Astrid came up with another unstoppable plan.
"In the worst case, I can borrow some money and get a rent-a-girlfriend somewhere…"

"You're forcing me to die!" Astrid yelled
This time the system didn't contradict him.
Astrid tried to come up with other ideas but all he came up with were songs for his funeral.
"You should be called shit-sama instead of system-sama because you are full of shit!" Astrid yelled at the floating screen with rage.

"System-sama! I accept your kindness, please let this mortal accept your gift!" Astrid yelled with passion

Appearing out of thin air like a hologram, a transparent blue screen appeared in front of him. It was a vertical menu with a few categories:

Astrid sighed in relief. "At long last, things are looking up." He opened Stats and read down them one by one.

"Ok, looks may not be my strong suit, but they soon will be!" Astrid said with hope!

[Social Status: 2 - Better than a homeless person, but students are in the bottom rung of society where you live]
"Fair enough."
[Communication skills: 3 - You spent your youth talking trash in video games. This achievement is the result of your effort]
"Yeah!"
[Knowledge: 4 - More knowledge means more conversation topics. Not too bad]
Ben's head rose upwards in pride.
[Strength: 1 - You're one step away from being a woman]
His head came right back down in shame.

[Personal talent: 2. Art, music, sports. How hard is it to find something you're not bad at? Get your life together]
"I've been trying god dammit!"

"Forget it. I'll be dead in a month anyway, so it's no time to be upset about the past." Astrid decided to move forward and open the Quests, where he discovered one entry.

"…Thanks for the warm welcome." Astrid opened Novice Welcome to see if there were any more details.
[Reward: ???]

He shook his head and went back to the main menu screen, opening the final Store selection. His brows knitted at what he saw. "Why is there only one item?"
[The system has many functions that are hidden until they're unlocked. That includes store items that you cannot afford with your current balance of Store Points]
[Since you have entered the system for the first time, you shall get 1 free (Low Level Mystery Box)!]
Astrid examined the available item.
[Low Level Mystery Box - Contains a random item anywhere from common to rare grade]
Astrid had enough points to acquire one of these. It only took him a few moments to come to a decision."I'm already on my way to the abyss. It seems like this Mystery Box is the only hope I have. Maybe I could get something amazing that'll help me."
Before opening it, Astrid closed his eyes and clenched his fists. He couldn't stop his forehead from sweating because he knew this was his only chance to live. Desperate but hopeful, Astrid steeled himself, opened his eyes, and unlocked the box.
A small, baby blue box with a white question mark on top materialized in front of him, falling into his lap. When he touched it, a bright light filled the room.
Life or death. It was in this little box.
