16 Chapter 16 - The Depressed Chen Ya Jing

It wasn't difficult to tell that Li Tian and Lin Yi's conversation had ended on a bad note.

However, this was the longest conversation Li Tian and Lin Yi have had together, to the point where Li Tian even thought that it could earn a place on the Guinness World Records.

After eating, it had already become three in the afternoon. Lin Yi had left to go somewhere, but knowing her, she must've gone to her office. Li Tian didn't want to laze around, so he also made his way to the company.

"Hey, Ya Jing. You've became even prettier during the few hours I wasn't here."

"Hey, Qing Qing. I missed you so much."

"Hey everyone, did you all miss me?"

Usually the PR department had a dull atmosphere, but ever since Li Tian joined, the mood in the office changed completely.

"Did you guys know what I saw on my way here? A woman was chasing after another woman and beating her up. There were so many people who gathered to see their fight."

Li Tian shared a story to Shu Qing Qing.

Sure enough, his story intrigued Shu Qing Qing.

"What? Really? That homewrecker sure is horrible, but violence is never the solution."

Shu Qing Qing said. She seemed a little skeptical about his words.

"Yeah, I think so, too. What's going on with the world today? People are hitting each other on the streets. I just left without looking back."

Suddenly, the sound of a cough travelled through the office and everyone quieted down. It was none other than Su Xiao Yue.

No one dared to joke around in front of their cold boss, especially during work hours.

"I'm here to inform something impromptu. After leaving work, head to Hai Tian Hotel. I've booked two tables for us. Our department hasn't had dinner together for a while now, let's gather tonight and work harder for the next three days."

Su Xiao Yue decided to treat everyone to dinner now because the PR department were having break next week, so the following three days would be very busy for them.

The office immediately rejoiced at her announcement..

Li Tian had a blank expression on his face, but from the corner of his eyes, he spotted Chen Ya Jing.

He could tell that something wasn't right.

She didn't yell and scream in joy like the others, instead, she just lowered her head and stared at her monitor.

At first, Li Tian didn't pay much attention to Chen Ya Jing. However, he realized that Chen Ya Jing was different compared to how she was in the morning. She looked incredibly depressed.

Even when he was joking around, her smile seemed forced.

Going out for dinner after getting off work was usually something to celebrate.

Su Xiao Yue walked past Li Tian but didn't say a word, she just gave him a gloating stare. It was obvious that she felt happy that she finally had the chance to get back at him.

Li Tian didn't care about her attitude towards him, as he had already let it all go despite feeling upset earlier.

Hai Tian Hotel was a four star hotel in Jiangdu. It wasn't bad at all, and Su Xiao Yue's spending would reach almost $10,000 for just treating her staff to dinner.

Li Tian suddenly realized that all the pretty girls in the PR department seemed to own a car, except for him.

Whose car should I sit in?

Looking at Chen Ya Jing reach for her keys in her handbag, he immediately offered: "Ya Jing, how about I help you drive your car?"

At this moment, Li Tian had completely forgotten about the fact that he did not own a driving license.

Chen Ya Jing was feeling down, and initially, she wanted to forgo attending tonight's company dinner. However, upon seeing everyone's elated expressions, she didn't want to be a party pooper.

Li Tian noticed her feelings, and thought it would be dangerous for her to drive in that state of mind.

Chen Ya Jing owned a Hyundai, which was quite economical. Everyone in the office had similar cars, except for Su Xiao Yue who owned a Honda that was easily worth more than $400,000.

Hai Tian Hotel wasn't located far, it was just a ten-minute drive from the office, including a five-minute traffic jam on the way there due to rush hour.

The dishes were served less than five minutes after everyone had arrived as it had already been pre-booked.

Women usually didn't drink much, but despite this, Su Xiao Yue still brought a few bottles of wine today.

A few bottles of $100 dry red wine, all of which were very low-budget.

As Li Tian was the newest employee to join the team, he naturally made the first toast. After one round, however, Li Tian didn't quite feel the alcohol.

Heck, he could drink red wine as if it were water.

When everyone started to dig in, Li Tian, who was sitting beside Chen Ya Jing, noticed a problem. Chen Ya Jing wasn't eating, but she was drinking continuously.

His forehead furrowed slightly when he saw Chen Ya Jing downing her third glass.

"Eat while you drink."

Li Tian served her a piece of fish fillet using his own chopsticks, but suddenly felt that it was quite inappropriate, so he said, "my chopsticks haven't been used."

Chen Ya Jing looked at Li Tian while seeming slightly flushed, and replied, "Thank you."

It was extremely fun with the girly girls and not so girly girls at the table. On top of Li Tian's cheerful personality, everyone else was also actively participating in talking. They were all enjoying themselves a lot.

This was, however, with the exception of Chen Ya Jing, who could be seen downing her drinks to the point where Su Xiao Yue noticed her.

"Li Tian, send her home after this, she won't be able to drive."

Everyone only drank a little so they were capable of driving. This wasn't the case for Chen Ya Jing, though, as she was already knocked out and lying on Shu Qing Qing for support.

"About that... I still need to get home, besides, I also had some drinks myself."

Li Tian really wanted to go home early, as Wang Ma would still be up waiting for him to return.

"You... Do you call yourself a man? Ya Jing's already in this state, and you still wouldn't send her home? As the leader of the company, I..."

"Stop! I'll send her home, okay?"

Li Tian only agreed because he couldn't stand listening to Su Xiao Yue nagging at him. However, when he saw the state Chen Ya Jing was in, Li Tian started becoming anxious.

Where does she live?
