261 Chapter 261

Wang Yu left to the hospital from the dungeon. He knew that they would not open their mouth unless they see their family. His men were working 24 * 7 to find out and therefore he returned to the hospital.

Though Wang Yu wanted to take Li Zi Yun home, the doctors suggested that it was better to be here under their care. He was aware that Li Zi Yun hated hospitals, but he knew that she had to stay in hospital now. Wang Yu did not let the nurse touch her body and he was the one who wiped her body and took care of her the entire time. Li Zi Yun's mother Meng Xuan Li wanted to stay but Wang Yu did not let her stay overnight. His mother and grandmother had come to visit but all they got was a cold treatment from Wang Yu. Assistant Liu Guang had returned from S country and Wang Yu ordered him to take care of everything in the office and not to disturb him for a few days.

Both the Wu family and Chu family had come to visit. Wang Yu did not speak much to them either. He had no words to say to anyone.

Two days passed and still Li Zi Yun was not awake. Wang Yu did not leave her side the entire time. Zhou Nan Xi informed him that the families had been brought there and they were indeed hiding in their country by changing their identity. Even after hearing that, he did not want to leave her side. Wang Yu asked them to guard the place well and wait for him to visit.

From lack of sleep, Wang Yu's eyes were bloodshot. He was exhausted beyond his limit but every time he closed his eyes, Li Zi Yun lying in a pool of blood flashed before his eyes and that was it. He could no longer sleep.

After three days, Li Zi Yun at last woke up. She tried moving her hands and legs but she felt heavy. She tried to speak but her throat was dry and she could not utter a word. Li Zi Yun could hear the machines beeping sound beside her and wanted to open her eyes but she could not. She felt like something heavy was holding her in place and she could not move an inch. At last, after so much effort Li Zi Yun opened her eyes. Everything was blurry and the light was blinding her eyes. She closed and opened her eyes repeatedly trying to adjust her eyes to the brightness. Sensing some movement, Wang Yu looked at Li Zi Yun and could see that she has woken up. He pressed a button to summon the doctor and slouched down to make eye contact with Li Zi Yun.

Wang Yu held Li Zi Yun's face in his palm and whispered, "Thank you… thank you for waking up. I missed you"

A lone tear escaped Li Zi Yun's eyes and everything that happened in the past flashed before Li Zi Yun's eyes. She tried to touch her stomach but she could not feel anything. Li Zi Yun looked around and there were no signs of her baby; she knew what this meant.

Wang Yu was holding Li Zi Yun's face in his palm but her eyes were wandering around the room. However, Wang Yu could not break the news to her. Finally, Li Zi Yun looked at Wang Yu. They looked at each other's eyes and she knew… she knew her babies were no longer alive. If they were alive, then Wang Yu would have been there holding their babies.

A loud cry escaped Li Zi Yun's throat and she repeated again and again, "I'm sorry… sorry…"

Wang Yu was now bent over the bed holding Li Zi Yun close, trying to console her, "Shh shh… it's okay. I am here now. I will take care of everything"

But it was of no use. Li Zi Yun could not control herself. The doctors, who had rushed inside following the alarm, stepped outside to give them privacy. Meng Sen Xi who had come to visit Li Zi Yun could hear her cries. But everyone knew that she was the one in most pain and neither could they relate to her now nor say something that will make her feel better.

Everyone was waiting outside unsure what to do. After what felt like an hour, Wang Yu came outside and asked the doctors to come in. Li Zi Yun was sobbing quietly and her heart was aching. But she couldn't do anything. She had been lying here unconscious when her babies were…

Li Zi Yun tried moving her hands but it would not move. Wang Yu picked her hands up and brought it to his face. Tears were flowing non-stop in Li Zi Yun's eyes and Wang Yu wiped the tears from her wet cheeks but it would not stop. The pain was ripping her heart but seeing Wang Yu like this caused Li Zi Yun even more pain. The doctors were checking up on Li Zi Yun but her eyes were only on Wang Yu.

Li Zi Yun pressed her hand to Wang Yu's cheeks and could feel it burning, all she managed to say was, "Fever…"

Wang Yu shook his head, "I'm okay. You are awake. Everything is fine now"

Wang Yu had not been feeling for the past two days but he did not take care of himself. Li Zi Yun tried to move in her bed but every bone in her body was aching and she could not move even her fingers on her own. Wang Yu's bloodshot eyes were enough to tell her that he had not slept for days. She tried to move to make space for him but every time she tried, she felt like thousand needles were piercing her body at the same time.

At last, Li Zi Yun gave up. She had no energy left to even try anymore.

Li Zi Yun said to Wang Yu, "lie down… next to me"

Wang Yu got into the bed. He was careful not to touch her or hold her, as she may be uncomfortable. But Li Zi Yun looked at her shoulders signaling to him to lie on her. The drugs were taking effect and Li Zi Yun was feeling drowsy; and before she drowned into the darkness, she could feel Wang Yu snuggling against her.
