10 Chapter 10: Snobs and Silverware

After the two girls had been debriefed and assigned their locations for the night, they stepped out into the open area of the venue and both gasped in shocked amazement at the decoration of the place. Many of the guests had arrived at this point and they too seemed like part of the decorative pieces in the hall with the way they were dressed.

“Which side did you get?” Holly asked Samantha as she surveyed the room with wide, gazing eyes.

“Back of the room,” Samantha told her as she too took register of all the occupants of the room, hoping she neither recognized any of them nor they recognized her.

“Aw,” Holly groaned as she picked up a sleek black tray from the side and held it against her hip, giving Samantha another one of the spares, “I’m right at the front. Steve said I had to escort some of them to the tables too, that’s so boring,” she complained, to which Samantha let out a short laugh.

“It is a job, Holly; it’s not supposed to be fun.”
