She went upstairs to call her superman.

"Hello Dad".

"Hi Jess, how are you?".

"I'm good, you?".

"I'm good also".

"How is work?".

"Work is going well, how is your mom?".

"She's fine I guess".

"You guess?, I don't understand".

"She's fine Dad".

"Jess baby girl what is wrong, tell your superman". Her dad urged.

She explained everything to him.

"Baby e, you were wrong for telling a lie, I'll try talking to her but you are still grounded".

But Dad, you and mom are just being so unfair and mean to me".

"We are not , we are just doing what's best for you".

"Whatever, I got an A in an algebra test".

"Wow, congrats, is your mom aware?".

"No, she isn't".

"You know she won't be happy that you told me first ".

"I'll tell her later".

"Okay bye". Her dad said

"Dad wait, I want to ask you something".

"Go ahead".

"When will you be back?".

"What's today's date?".

"18th of July 2023".

"Oh, okay, I'll be back before your birthday on the 3rd of August".

"Okay, no problem".

"I love you baby girl".

" Love you too dad".

Jess immediately ended the call.

"On no". Jess screamed

Her mom rushed to her room "jess what's wrong?". Her mom asked

"I was talking to Dad and I lost track of time, I need to prepare for Will's party, I haven't decided on what to wear and my chemistry test tomorrow". Jess lamented

"Calm down jess". Her mom adviced

"Mom I can't calm down right now".

"Do you want to go to the party?".

"Not really".

"So prepare for your chemistry test and forget about the party".

"Thanks mom you are the best".

"I just remembered, how was your algebra test?".

"Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you, I got an A".

"Does your dad know?, No need to answer that I'll rather call him".

Mrs. Davies called her husband and he answered at the first ring

"Hello sweetheart". Mrs Davies said.

"Hi darling, how are you doing?". Mr Davies replied

"I'm fine, you?". Mrs. Davies asked

"I'm good, jess told me you grounded her".

"Yes I did,she deserved it, do u know that she got an A in her algebra test?".

"So she finally told you. You are not angry about the fact that she told me first right?". Mr Davies asked

"I'm so angry right now, I dlfeel like jess is just your daughter not our daughter". She revealed in-between sobs

"She's our daughter not just mine, I'm so sorry if I hurt you".

"Jess is here, I'll go to our room".

Mrs. Davies returned to Jess's room with her eyes red from crying.

"Mom , I'm so sorry, I was about to tell you when you said I was grounded, please forgive me". Jess apologized.

"It's okay jess no need to apologise, you did not do anything wrong".

"Mom I'm sorry".

"Jess I said it's okay".

"Good night mom".

"Good night Jessica".

"And you're dad said you should call him".her mom said

"Okay ma'am".

Jessica called her dad

"Hi baby". Her dad said

"Dad, mom said you requested for me to call you". Jess said

"Jess I'm actually busy right now, I'll call you tomorrow".

"Okay dad"

"Byee". He said

Jess went to the kitchen to get some snacks so she could study. She saw popcorn and took two packs. On her way to her room, as she passed by her parents room, she heard her mother speaking to someone on the phone. She went to her room, kept her snacks on her bed and went to her parents room. "Mom can I come in?" Jess asked

"Yes come in".

"Are you speaking to dad on the phone?".

"Yes I am, do you want to talk to him?".

"Yes, put it on speaker please....".

"I have done that". Her mom said

"Good night love birds".

"Good night baby girl". They both said in unison.

As Jessica went to her room she realized that she had great individuals as parents. In her room, she decided to take a nap before she reads since she felt sleepy.

Mrs. Davies went to check up on her daughter , she found her sleeping, she left but came back later

"Splash" that was the sound of water spilling in Jess.

"Mom what was that for?, I'm sleepy let me sleep". Her mom kept spilling water on her

"I'm awake, I'm no.longer sleeping".

"Are u sure?". Her mom asked

"Yes I am".

"Pick up your book and start reading". Her mom said and with that, she left Jessica's room.

After reading for about 4-5 hours, Jessica decided to sleep for a little while before her alarm rings.
