The Beginning

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

I was stunned when I saw a man lying down full of blood on the floor.

I can't move and I can hardly breathe.

Things just happen so fast,our laughter turned to screaming and with just a wink of an eye he's gone..

One thing's for sure it is because of me..

"Ciara,wake up!You'll be late for school"

I was already awake before my mom tried to wake me up.

June 15 20**

Its been a year since my life was devastated.I dont even knkw why Im still alive.Everyday of my life seems like a nightmare.I wish Im with him right now.

I looked at the mirror thingking to myself..

'of all people,why me?'

What did I do and Im suffering this kind of life?

As I went down I saw my mom preparing the table and noticed me.

"breakfast is ready sweety,"she said happily.

"Are you ready for your first day in college?"she asked.

She's more excited.

I didnt answer her.

"Well,Im very much excited knowing that my baby is now a lady but you'll be forever my baby."

How could she?

I suddenly lost my appetite and leave.

I can't believe her..

Seems like she forgot what happened a year ago.

I was thinking too much that I didnt notice that I already at school.

It's my first day as a college student.Tears just suddenly roll out my face and I wipe it immediately.

A bunch of students are chatting and having a good time with each other since they havent meet each other for months and here I am alone looking at them from a far,I let out a loud sigh.

A few minutes later the bell rang.

Some students are excited and some are not,like me.

We are gathered here in the auditorium for orientation and a little program.After the program we were instructed to find our respective courses.

I went inside a room where I belong and take a seat at the back.

I suddenly felt that there's someone sitting behind me but I didnt mind at all.

"Hi, Im Lei and you are?"

I was stunned for a minute.

"oh,Im sorry.Did I scare you?"

scare me?

"uhm,no.By the way Im Ciara.Nice to meet you Lei."

"Nice to meet you too,Ciara.I hope we'll be friends,"

I just smiled at her.

"Excuse me everyone!"

Thank God someone caught our attention.I felt so awkward talking to Lei.Im no good in making friends.

"Good morning everyone!Im Mina and Im your president.All we have to do today is that we'll have a little program so that you'll meet your seniors and ofcourse to know each other.We'll have games so that we will all enjoy!"

Everyone was excited except me

"to formally start I would like to introduce my fellow seniors who you can run whenever you need help."

The president started to introduce her collegues.

"since we are done introducing,It's your turn to introduce and also state why did you enroll in this course?"says the president

Seriously!

It started in front.

There are lots of reason why they enroll in this course but I can say that I have a deeper reason.

"Hi Guys Im Lie Ann Evans,And I enroll in this course because my family wants me to take this course."

Can't she decide for herself

well,I dont want to judge.

Everyone is looking at me right now.

Oh crap!

its my turn

I stood up immediately and introduced myself.

"Hello,Im Ciara Jade Smith.The reason why I enrolled in this course is...

to give justice for my father."

I can feel the heavy atmosphere I created in this room.

I sat down and they clapped their hands later on.

Since its the first day of school we were dismissed early so I went to my father's grave.

"Hi dad,I missed you so much!It's my first day in college.You promised me that you'll be the one to take me to school but I went there alone.You didnt see how I dressed up,I feel like a lady now.I promised to study well and become a lawyer to give justice for your death.I love you so mich Dad!"

As I went home,I saw my mom talking and laughing at the same time to a mid 40 guy.

Did she ever went to my father?

I passed her but..

"Hey Ciara!"she shouted

I was ready to open the door when she called my name.

I turned to her with a blank face

"I want you to meet Diego,His our new neighbor.That's their house"mom sadi while pointing beside our house.

I bowed to him as a sign of respect and went inside the house.

I ran upstairs and went to my bedroom.

I throw myself on the bed.

What a tiring day!

I closed my eyes and fall asleep.

"Ciara,lets have some dinner"

I followed her and took a seat.

"Taste this one,its from Diego.He is a chef so definetely this dish is delicious.You know what,his son is also studying at your school and-"

I cut her off

"Do you know what day is today?"

"Its 15th of June"she answered.

"exactly!have you forgotten?"I asked her with a slightly raised tone

She didnt anwer.

"You're unbelievable"

I didnt finished my dinner and headed back to my room.

I heard her calling my name but I didnt turn to her.
