Chaper 1

Lin Fei looked over the bountiful land. He sat there on that small rock on that tall peak. It was sunset, and the sky overhead was turning an amber color. As Lin Fei sat motionlessly, he smiled.

It had been a few years since he had come here…

To this strange, and sort of cliche world….

A random being that called himself "god" had brought him there.

"God? Though I respect religion, I am an atheist!" Lin Fei yelled over the horizon, for no apparent reason, spooking a few birds…..

Lin Fei, being a non-believer, had argued with the so-called "God" for a few months before the dude had decided to just send him to a world of Daoism and stuff, where there were immortals and other fun things.

Though he witnessed people flying on swords and smoking demons shooting fireballs, Lin Fei refused to give up on atheism.

After all, even though Confucius once existed, not everybody decided to believe in Confucianism…

So….. Anyway. Lin Fei had been reincarnated in a small average family in Spirit Wind City, a pretty cliche name but…. Unlike some other cities in the novels, Lin Fei would read in his previous life, it actually sort of lived up to its name.

To be more precise, it was always plagued by a year-long stream of wind. Due to an abundance of "qi" or spirit energy, it seemed like small green bulbous spirits danced about.

Just saying, Lin Fei believed in "Qi" the same way one believed in science.

The city was decent sized, well, in this world terms. It was about the size of Tokyo…..

He had gradually gotten used to the ridiculous things that people in this world thought were "normal".

Him and his family were herb-gatherers, who would venture out pretty far from the city walls to collect different forms of vegetation.

Currently, Lin Fei felt satisfied that he had picked enough herbs for the day, and decided to just stand here and be at piece, on the highest peak in the area. Xianxia worlds really had quite the view….

Lin Fei breathed in and out peacefully. He could see his cold breath wafting into the evening sky.

Atheist Art, First Form, First Stage: Resolute Palm of Blasphemous Unbelieving!

He thrust his hand outwards, and suddenly, the world around him grew quiet.

Due to his inexpectance of religion, Lin Fei decided to create his own martial arts, as even though he apparently had "decent" talent, he would stubbornly be an atheist until the day he died….

*BOOM!*

A fierce wind seemed to swirl around his palm and it burst outwards, blowing across the landscape, wiping out countless trees.

"....." Lin Fei looked out calmly at the completely devastated landscape.

Below him, three whole mountains had been ripped to pieces along with most of the greenery in the area.

He had overdone it… But they would just pin it on some "heavenly" beast or secret expert's fighting. They would never believe that it was just a random "mortal" peasant. The cultivators of this world were a type of Atheist too…..

This Cultivation world, was bound by belief. Though it could give some people a piece of mind, for others, it was a hindrance. Why not blow away all your troubles with a strike of your hand?

Lin Fei picked up his basket, which was filled with plants and vegetables, before turning around, North, towards the city.

Atheist Art: A Thousand Miles, Unhindered by Belief….

He disappeared, his form blinking through the vast wilderness, before entering the city gates, in less than five seconds….

In the path of a normal cliche cultivator, their path was filled with hardships, fighting demons and gods and such, but for an Atheist, who does not believe in such things, their path would be an empty road, though sort of depressing at times, pretty relaxed and smooth.

Spirit Wind City was huge. It had many districts, but most looked the same. Brightly lit and painted buildings with windmills, lanterns, and kites fluttering above, what seemed to be luminous emerald sprites dancing about.

The houses and other residencies were all decent sized, and compact, pretty clean, as the residences of the city were pretty meticulous about certain things.

He walked down a busy road, passing the likes of oxen and shopkeepers, a little dust blowing away in the wind. Lin Fei's hair fluttered a little, with people turning towards him.

He was pretty handsome and looked carefree and approachable. Normally, Lin Fei would wear some normal gray peasant clothes highlighted with a flowing black robe….

Soon, Lin Fei stopped at a small building. A crooked sign saying "Lin Residency". Quite the common sight across the city, as the surname, "Lin" was common.

Pushing open the smooth wooden door, he plopped the basket on the ground.

"I'm home!" He yelled. A few chickens clucked in fright and scattered back to their pen. A goose strutted off and cheerfully hopped into a small mossy pond. Lin Fei's older brother had deposited some koi in it.

The Lin Family was pretty well off, besides the slum area, most normal peasants had quite a stable and peaceful life, as jobs and other work was aplenty. Also, the two main clans, Wang, and Tong, actually, unlike many other cities, had a friendly relationship, with their two clan heads being powerhouses in the Dancing Sprite State.

The Dancing Sprite State was the place where Spirit Wind City resided. It was home to many prosperous sects, towns, and cities, with a bustling fishing and textile industry.

It was known as this, because across the land, a thick fog of spiritual qi covered the land, with the areas somewhat unique climate, it created a spectacle known to the locals as "Sprite Dust"

, though the name was not really that creative, the people of the State decided to stick with it...

Lin Fei walked through another door into the main part of the residency. He lived there with his brother, sister, uncle, aunt, twin cousins, grandmother, and an old carpenter, who was his uncle's old friend.

Lin Fei never knew his mother, but his father was a Disciplinary Outer Sect Elder at the nearby, Serene Fern Sect. A sect known for its beautiful lush greenery, plant alchemy, and the fact a good part of the sect was covered in water.

"Brother Fei! You are back!" A gruff warm voice sounded inside one of the rooms, as the shuffling sound of footsteps soon grew closer.

A burly man walked out of the room, patting Lin Fei on the back. It was his brother, Lin Hai, a fisherman at one of Spirit Wind CIties many lakes.

"Hey, Lin Hai, how was your workday?" Lin Fei smiled. He and all his siblings were on very good terms.

"Well… Today, something pretty funny happened. Old Li fell into the lake and-" Lin Hai started talking, as they walked back into their home.
