I woke up to a banging at my front door. I sat up; annoyed, I finally get up and walk to the door.

The door opens with two men wearing suits come into my living room.

"Miss Richardson, your mother, is waiting. Come with us," they say as they stand there like statues.

"Don't call me that I'm not my mother," I say

I stand there and walk back to bed, crawling around into the covers.

The two men escorted me out of my bedroom and put me in my mother's car.

"Hello, daughter," she says, not looking at me as she sits in the front seat.

"Hello, mother," I say, looking out the window

We have arrived at the house. The gate doors open, and we enter the yard.

So I might have forgotten the party mom was throwing but banging on my door and throwing me in the car with nothing but my pajamas on rude.

My mother tells the guards sometimes, and they come toward leading me upstairs to a room.

"Your clothes and everything you need is in here. Get ready. Your mother and father at waiting for you downstairs when your ready," he says and closes the door behind him.

I see a suitcase by the side of the bed. I see makeup and clothes on the dresser

I don't do this. What's the worst can happen, but I get dressed in black dress pants and a formal crop top.

I open the door and see to of the men the put me in here. They walk me downstairs to the living we're everyone is I met my mom's eyes

She comes over

"Your fathers in the study if you wanna say hi," she said take a drink of her wine and go off to mingle again

I was down to the study as I heard my father's voice.

I heard another man's voice. I knock but no answer. Soon men in a suit come out. He makes eye contact with me for a second, then he leaves.

The wait wasn't that guy from the Department building. What's he doing here.

I open the door and step in. I see my papa sitting at his desk, his eyes glued to his work.

"If you look too hard, you might get a headache," I smile as he looks up. A smile appears upon his face that comes around his desk and hugs me.

"Hey pumpkin, what you are doing down here? You know the party upstairs, right" he smiles

"Yea, of course, papa," I giggle

My father has the best relationship, better than what I have with my mother. Someday I hope to find a guy like him.

"So papa, who was that guy you were talking to" I take a seat at one of the leather seats in his office as he leans on the front of the desk.

"Just business pumpkin," he explains, sitting back in his seat.

"Okay, I gotta get back to the party mother wouldn't want me to make a bad public image for her" I get up kissed papa's cheek as left for the stairs.

I get to the kitchen to eat something. But nothing looks good. I grab a flavored water bottle and my way to the back porch. I sit on the couch, scrolling through my phone.

Evelyn, my mother, called. "What are you doing? Get off your phone," she gives a seen look; I get off and walk to the living room.

Evelyn, this is Preston his one of my friend's sons. He's younger than you, about a year or two" I stop her right there.

"Gross mother, I'm not dating or doing anything that's involved in meeting guys, okay."

"Sweetie, you will do as I say, now go talk to him," she pushes me to him. I look back, But she's gone. I walk out the door.

I get in a car and drive back to my place "ugh, mother God, how does papa stand her" I said out loud to myself. I was up to my building and open my door. I take off my purse and hang up the keys. I plop myself down on the sofa and exhale.

I sit up, and my phone rings

"Vanessa, hey, what's up."

"Eve, Eve, you got to come quick, please, eve."

"Where are you, Vanessa hello, are you shit" I grab the keys and head down to the main floor, and drive as fast as I could. God damn it, Vanessa, what did you do this time.
