Synopsis

WARNING! The events in this book are real. This is a record of the events that led to humanity's survival. This starts in 2022 and goes up to present day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Apocalypse began on February 21 2029. First came the meteors. They destroyed most of Asia. Wars broke out as the survivors of the calamity tried to get the supplies they needed. Rivers formed from blood at the sites of battle. Some were desperate enough to drink from these rivers. At this point, nobody knew about the fungal disease spreading around Europe, the remains of Asia, and Africa. Those who were infected eventually made their way to North and South America. Then the worst part started. The infected started to die rapidly, or at least give the illusion of death. As the hospital or family members started bringing the bodies to their chosen method of disposal, the 'dead' began to stir. The humans they had been were dead, but the fungus was able to stimulate their brain in a way that would spread itself in the most efficient way possible. This is when the survivors began to lose hope for humanity. These 'zombies' were only able to be 'killed' by completely destroying their head or cutting the brain away from the rest of the body. Those who had been preparing for this were suddenly considered the reasonable ones and were begged for entrance to their shelters. If they were asked, the most common response was a shotgun blast to the face. Years later most of the 'zombies' were rotted completely and most of what was left of humanity left their bunkers. Many had died in their bunkers because they didn't pack away enough food or didn't have a hydroponics farm. There were 3 'vaults' that didn't come up to the surface. Each was as large as a medium sized town. These 'vaults' contained almost 35% of surviving humans.
