20 Caught!

"So," Tiara said after she had finished her omelette, "What is your hidden life story?"

Percy had gotten up to clean the dishes and his back was towards Tiara as he picked up dish by dish to wipe it clean. They had no dishwasher and the work was all on his head. He really didn't understand why he was on the loser end of all this.

"I had an abusive mother," he said simply, like it was just a small fact among other facts in the world. He waited for Tiara to say or ask something but he was met with nothing but silence. Tilting his head in confusion, he turned around to look at her. "Tiara!" he yelled in his deep voice, rushing forward to see her fallen limp against the sofa.

He shook her, fear flashing through his eyes. "Tiara, wake up!" He shook her hard but she was like a rag doll in his arms. He ran a hand through his hair and looked left and right. "Shit, no." He checked her breath and let out half a breath when he felt her soft breaths against her fingers. "Did she just faint?"

He got another fright when suddenly, she started shaking. "Tiara!" He had no idea what to do. She was having seizures, just like the day before. Thinking of no other way out, he left her, much to his pain and called the ambulance in haste. And he looked around for something to keep her calm and stuffed a spoon into her hands to hold on to.

"Please, please, please, stop shaking!" He screamed at her in frustration but that didn't help at all. It didn't help that he was scared either. Percy felt his head hurt from the sudden rush of tension. He groaned as he held her shaking body. He couldn't take it, seeing another person in pain and him being able to do nothing for her.

The doorbell rang and Percy rushed to open it. A small group of paramedics rushed in to carry her out. "Is something wrong with her, doctor?" Percy said hoarsely. They all shook their heads to comfort the man. "It's going to be alright," one of them said and handed him the address of the hospital before rushing out with Tiara on the stretcher. She had calmed down now, the seizure lasted only a couple minutes but why she got the seizure, was the problem.

Percy fell on the sofa, cupping his mouth, "You better be back like new, Tiara. We still have our deal." He muttered to himself before rethinking his words. He cleared his throat, looking at the ceiling.

"Wait, why do I care?" He let out a breath before a guilty smile broke out on his face. "Don't tell me…" He shook his head laughing, "No, no way. I'm a man. She is...she is just a baby."

The telephone called again and Percy picked up.

"Percy, that's you right? How's everything? Had breakfast?" Hazel's voice echoed into his ears. Percy pursed his lips. They must be on important work...surely he could handle this small problem on his own?

"Ah yes, we did. I made meat omelette."

Hazel laughed, looking over at Mitchell who was driving the car and gave a thumbs up to tell him that they were okay. Mitchell let out a breath and mouthed, 'Tiara?'

"That's nice, good you know how to cook! Where's Tiara, could you give the phone to her?"

"Oh she went back to sleep not long ago. I'll call when she is awake."

Mitchell's face fell a bit when he heard that. "Ah, that's okay, Percy. We are on a little mission right now so our phones will be switched off. I'll call you, just pick up okay?"

Percy closed his eyes and nodded. "Okay." And he cut the phone and banged it back on the receiver. His head hurt. But he needed to go to the hospital right now. Stumbling, he walked into the general wardrobe and found some random shirts and jeans hung inside. He grabbed the least weird looking one and put it on. It was all too oversized so he tucked it inside before locking the house door and walking out of the apartment, the hospital name in his jeans pocket and the money required bunched up in his right hand. The pineapple box also had a credit card number and its password for emergency reasons. Percy took that out too.

At the hospital, the nurse led him into the ward at the end. "She is stable now, but since she is a recent coma patient, you should take care to not give her stress or anything that will exert her out."

Percy nodded and he walked inside the sunny hospital room. Tiara was lying like a broken angel on the bed. Her face and lips were pale and her black hair like ripples around her head. A random song immediately popped into Percy's head...he shook it off and looked around at the nurse. "Could you leave us alone for a while?" He pursed his lips as he said that, feeling the weight of the two syringes in his right pocket.

The nurse hesitated and glanced back and forth at them both. "I'm afraid that's not possible...I have to be on 24 hour surveillance over the girl." Percy frowned and looked at the hospital. Wait...he started to remember the first time he saw Tiara. "You!" he pointed at the nurse. He knew something was fishy around here. It wasn't the same hospital Tiara had been in for 8 years! "How did you know she was a coma patient when she was never admitted in this hospital ever?"

The nurse realized her mistake and snarled. She locked the ward door and took out her knife, pointing it at Percy. "Kneel."

Percy cussed in his head. What had he dragged them both into? He regretted not telling Mitchell and Hazel about it now. They would have known what to do. "No."

Nurse pushed the knife against his stomach. And she shot for the girl. Percy immediately stepped to the side and blocked the nurse, twisting her hand behind her and locking her. "Why? Why are you hunting us down?"

The nurse looked up like it wasn't obvious, " You guys are trying to be immortal! That's sacrilege. You all and the entire research project deserve to die for your sins."

"You don't decide sinners when you are on yourself," Percy said and pushed her forward before scooping Tiara in his arms and ripping all the equipment from her. The nurse ran behind Percy but he was faster, even with a 20-year-old woman in his hands. He let out a rush of win as he ran past the hospital corridors.

"Security, catch them! One of them is a patient!" The nurse shouted and the guards were all deployed instantly. They were closing in on Percy fast.

"Deploy east wing guards! Approach from opposite side. The girl is our patient!"

Percy halted and huffed as he saw guards closing in on him from every direction. He looked all around. God, he was trapped. The nurse walked forward, panting but smiling. 'No running away this time." She took out her phone and made a call.

"Sir, yes, we got them," she said to her boss on the other side. Percy narrowed his eyes. So it wasn't just the nurse, but an entire group that was behind them?

"By any chance," Percy narrowed his eyes, "Is your boss Goren?" he asked, remembering the name from a previous conversation. The nurse laughed, "Yes, prepare to die. He is on his way here right now."

He really should have let Mitchell know.
