It was very different, Jace thought as he slid the box containing the clothing items allocated to him under the bed, to be in another accommodation. He had never spent a night other than in his cage. It had been his since he was a cub, and he was accustomed to the comfort of sleeping with his pack separated only by bars. Although he knew that the wall separating him from the next room was only dry wall and that he could penetrate it with his fist, its solidity was disconcerting.

The bed in the room was also different. Not the military style bunks used in their cages, this bed had been designed to sleep more than one in more comfort than pushing the bunks together provided, its mattress was far softer, the bedding was of better quality and there was more of it.
