The Device is Lighting Up?

After eating breakfast, Vance noticed that his device, that was connected with a second he gave to John, was flashing. Realizing that this meant something serious was going on, Vance quickly set the base on course towards the royal capital. While it flew, he made sure to grab Hope, Jess, and Celine to teleport them to the castle. Before he left however, he made sure to inform the girls that they would be heading out to quickly check the situation, and he offered to bring Ryoko with him. She said that she would rather wait until the fighting starts.

"Well then girls, we're off. Ryo, just make sure to help protect the base while I'm out."

"Of course I will. The technologies on this island are amazing and amusing."

"Whatever reason works."

After saying this, Vance and the three girls teleported to the castle. In a flash of light, they appeared at the castle. Vance quickly led the girls towards the throne room to meet John. Once they had reached the throne room, they saw John and Lucy discussing with a small number of people, who seemed to be their advisors, and the general that Vance had fought before.

"We need to bolster the armies quickly if we want to survive the Rising Dragon Kingdom's attack."

"There is a large chance that we'll lose this war."

"Maybe we should try negotiating."

The advisors were giving out various ideas and thoughts. However there seemed to be an agreed upon idea that the Fate Walker Kingdom wouldn't be able to win the fight. The general that Vance had fought previously seemed to be enraged by this idea.

"You dare say that we can't win? This great kingdom has been standing for centuries. And it will certainly live to see many more millennia."

Seeing that the people in the room were losing their tempers and were going to go haywire, John spoke up.

"Before you think of surrendering, and cowering, do remember that they would likely not spare us even if we did. Besides, when was it decided that we needed to surrender?"

John saw Vance and the girls walk in and quickly pointed him out.

"There he is! This is Vance. The loved one of my daughters, and one of the most powerful people I've ever met, if not THE most powerful person."

Hearing this, everyone but the general, and Lucy, looked at Vance in shock. Seeing that everyone was staring at him, Vance knew that he had to speak up.
