4 Despair

Olivia stopped the car at the side of the road and took Johnathan's boat key and her eyes swiftly landed at the wrinkled photos which laid in the passenger seat, subconsciously she picked up the photo and peered at the little family in it.

The man in the photo carried an adorable baby in his right hand and held the waist of the woman standing next to her with his other hand.

The woman eyes glimmered seeing the little baby's short hand waving to her in joy. While the eyes of the man were glued to the beautiful woman who was glowing in admiration right next to him.

Olivia's eyes lost all its light when she keenly gazed at the photo in her hand, Her lifeless orbs showed her dead soul underneath. If she cried to her heart content, she might have relived the pain and sorrows but her eyes held no trace of tears in it, Rather it was empty, completely empty...

She opened the car door holding the boat key and her family picture in her hand, she walked straight ahead to locate her husband boat at the shore. All her fear for the Ocean was left at once, she regretted now that she should have accompanied them before. If she was there with her son, none of this could have happened.

Olivia climbed in the boat and studied the general instruction and started the boat. She held zero knowledge in sailing but as a daughter of a sailor, she quickly learned the technique using the learner's instruction.

The boat drifted and moved further into the deep ocean. She stood there in the deck so void to feel any kind of fear or emotion. As time passed by, the scorching sun rose to glitter the ocean with a mixture of orange and red color.

She navigated the boat in a circular motion, with each circle she extended the perimeter and looked for any indication of her son and her husband.

Two days passed, she navigated non-stop and she used up all the fuel left in the boat and once all the fuel were consumed, the boat halted in the middle of the ocean.

She didn't have any idea of where she was now, She was lost. All her hope started to dissipate as time passed by. The blazing sun left suntan all over her exposed skin area. She closed her eyes and breathed the salty wind blew past her, 'Now what?! How could I find them now?!'

Thinking of which made her tears to roll down from her eyes and stained her suntan face. She held the photos close to her heart and started to tremble in fear. The fear of not seeing her son and husband forever in this life overwhelmed her senses.

All she could do now was to cry, she cried and cried as if it was the end of her world. All the remaining strength that she held back with a determination to find back her family was now dissipated. She slumped back and fell in the deck as unconsciousness took over her again.
