It was a pleasant morning in New York.

Lots of buzzing sounds of vehicles could be heard.

Everyone had been waiting for this day.

That's because today the world's largest technological company, Blake Technologies LTD. was going to launch its first successful Nuclear Reactor.

The Blake Technologies LTD. was a firm and high-standing company with huge number of assets all over the world.

The crowd had flooded the auditorium and were waiting for him to arrive.

And there he was. He arrived at the company in his Limousine, the one and only car of the type in New York.

A red carpet had been laid for his entrance.

He got out of his car and entered the auditorium when suddenly the crowd burst into cheers.

He was none other than Tony Blake, the CEO-cum-President of the Blake Technologies LTD.

He was the man behind the company's success.

He got on the stage and held the mic in his hand and said,"Hello everybody. How are you?".

"Fine", replied the audience.

"Myself, Tony Blake, the CEO-cum-President of the Blake Technologies LTD. standing before you all for the successful launch of the Nuclear Reactor."

He had barely finished his speech when there was a 'Boom'!

The explosion caused a huge uproar among the audience.

They all began to run towards the exit.

"What's going on? What is wrong?," Mr Blake shouted.

"Sir, something seems to have gone wrong with the Nuclear Reactor."

"What? How can it be? Evacuate all the people. Fast, as fast as you can," Mr Blake ordered his employees.

Mr Blake was a man who treated everyone equally.

As soon as almost most of the audience was evacuated, the Nuclear Reactor suddenly gave out a green coloured beam of light out in the sky.

The beam entered the sky forming a huge group of dark clouds gathered upon the city and it suddenly started raining light beams.

Oh right I forgot to introduce myself, I am Kayden Brock, a junior student at the academy.

I have my mother and my cute little sister looking after me.

I lost my dad in an accident. As usual, today I'm ready to go to school.

"Mom, Claire, I'm off to school. Bye. See ya later,"I shouted as I exited the gate of my house.

I had not even walked two steps when I was hit by several beams of light gathering at the centre of the clouds.

It was as if my whole body was burning.

I shouted and screamed and at last fainted due to exhaustion.

When I tried to open my eyes, I could see my sister sitting beside me and glaring at me.

"Aah. What happened to me? Why am I lying here?," I said.

"Brother, you finally woke up. I have been waiting for you to wake up. Thank god, you're alright," Claire said as tears started rolling down her eyes.

"It's alright," I said as I wiped her tears off.

She held my hand and began crying again.

After our father's death, she only had me and mother.

"I was afraid, I was going to lose you too," she said.

"Don't worry, I'll always be there with you," I said as I tried to comfort her.

"Promise me," she said as she held her hand up front.

I placed my hand on hers and promised her that I would never leave her.

My mother brought a cup of water for me to drink and relax.

Then they said that I had been asleep for almost two days.

My sister asked me about what had happened. I told her that a strange beam of light fell on me and I became unconscious.

She said that she had experienced it too but nothing had happened to her.

She thought perhaps I was not eating properly and had less immunity.

Then she asked me to get refreshed.

When I refreshed and came out of the bathroom, she had laid out a large table full of food for me.

I asked her to on the TV. She did exactly as I asked.

The news was filled with the news of the strange beam and strange cases and occurence of mysteries in the cities.

I sat on the table and started eating.

At the same time the news started telling about the strange beams of light.

Then Mr Blake began speaking with the news reporters explaining them about the sudden explosion of the Nuclear Reactor.

They said that the the beams of light where the radiated particles which had spread into the air.

The people who came into contact with the beam of light had turned into mutants with superpowers.

They said that the criminals who had come into contact with the beam had been running rampage into the city.

Not even the military could stop them because of their superpowers.

Mr Blake said that he was going to open a training institution to train the mutants.

The mutants after graduation can become the pillars of the world.

They would become heroes. Protecting the people, maintaining peace is the duty of a hero.

I who was having lunch, suddenly choked when I heard about mutants.

My sister who was sitting beside me, gave me a glass of water and tried to relax me.

After having food I went to bed.

The whole night I had various dreams of me as a hero.

A fire of hope and desire was burning inside me.

It's been two years since the Nuclear Reactor explosion now.

My sister has already got a superpower.

Her hair has grown long and they move according to their instructions.

Whereas I, who have been training since two years have shown no signs of any superpowers.

My friends all left me because they think that I'm weak.

I couldn't believe that my best friends would leave me some day.

I'm now at the gate of my school.

I'm wondering whether I should go in or not.

Finally I stepped in and as soon as I entered the corridor, I heard some of my classmates and juniors making fun of me.

I just ignored them and made my way into the classroom.
