In a dreamy state I walk
Along the cobbled pathways from the old,
Towards a towering, massive home
Of a Spirit true and bold.
Reluctantly I sat
On a pew so long, it seems no end
And waited for someone to speak
When I felt a power I dared not comprehend.
Dazed and mystified I stared,
Unblinking towards the altar I gazed
For at last I noticed
The Man I think I'll know from afar.
He stared at me and smiled,
And from afar He whispered with the wind
"My child, awake thy heart and let me in."
Awaken from my years of fitful slumber,
I finally opened my heart
And from then on His hands I held.
