Several months have passed since then, and I've grown closer to Sylphiette; I see her frequently and we play all day. My sword training is going well, but my brother still has a lot of issues with his swordsmanship. I attempted to assist him as much as I could, but it appears that he just doesn't have the skill for it. My magic, on the other hand, has reached a snag: I cannot compete with my brother's talent. It's almost as if he had an infinite supply of mana that never runs out. The day of our birthday was soon approaching.
Today was our birthday, and we spent the majority of the day doing usual things like magic practice with Roxy and sword training with Dad. However, the sword training was a little different today. As Dad cleared his throat and stated, "Today, I'm going to have you spar, and you are not to quit until I call the match," both me and Rudy responded, "Okay," and we faced each other with our wooden swords drawn, waiting for the signal. Dad finally says, "Begin!" and I rush in first without hesitation. The key characteristic of the sword God method is to attack first and defeat them with a single blow.
I hastened to the attack. As soon as Rudy flinched, I struck him in the head with my wooden sword as it descended onto him. Dad stopped the match after that attack, and my brother Rudy was on his knees with his head slumped saying, "That hurt, can't you take it easy on me?" Dad replied, "You're not going to learn if everyone takes it easy on you," to which Rudy mumbled, "that makes sense," dad adding, "I want you to do it again, and Rudy don't sit there like a sitting duck." Rudy nods, and we return to our starting positions to begin the next round.
The second round went a little differently, but the result was the same. When Rudy is on the defense, he begins flinching, as if he is afraid of being hit. However, it ended with my victory; we had multiple matches, each of which concluded with my victory. "Ryan, it looks like you're a prodigy when it comes to swordsmanship, must be because you have a great teacher," dad said proudly, and I interjected, "I may be talented in swordsmanship, but I wouldn't exactly call you talented as a teacher it's quite difficult to understand what you're saying." Roxy, in my opinion, is a better instructor." This made Dad frown.
When I saw Dad frown, I decided to throw him a bone and say, "it just means you have to keep practicing until you get better at it." Dad looked a little happier and said, "point taken," and then continued, "Ryan, after seeing you spar, I have decided to promote you to intermediate rank in the sword God style." Mom then opens the door and invites us in. as the celebration begins
When we entered the house, everyone congratulated me and Rudy and wished us a good birthday. There was a great spread of food on the table. They had a whole pig and a variety of dessert-looking foods. plus a variety of other items. After we finished eating, we all sat down and began feasting. Roxy approached us and handed each of us a beginner's wand, explaining, "Normally you get one of these when you master beginner to your magic, but because you guys could already do that, I forgot to give you one then." She takes a moment and then continues, "Rudy, you have your graduation exam tomorrow."
Roxy adds, "After you pass your graduation exam, I will be leaving this town," which saddened Rudy, who added, "pretty sure you could stay if you wanted to master, you're quite helpful to the village." "No, it's time for me to move on," Roxy remarked, shaking her head, "and you shouldn't call me master because you are more talented than I am." Rudy gave a nod. When it came time for Dad to present us with our gifts, he handed each of us an arming sword. He starts giving us a long rambling sermon about how having a sword doesn't make you strong, but luckily mum cut him off.
Looking at the sword, it appears to be well-made; I can easily grip it, and while my brother Rudy struggles with it, I had no trouble handling it. Mom gives each of us a book. I acquired a monster book and had a quick glance at it; it covers monsters of all kinds and their weaknesses. My brother received a plant book. I smile warmly and thank Mom and Dad for the gifts, as well as Roxy. It had been a wonderful evening, and it was soon time for bed.
I could tell Rudy had a lot on his mind that night, so I asked him, "Rudy, what's on your mind?" Rudy simply shook his head and said, "I don't want to talk about it." I nodded and said, "Well, if you do, I'm willing to listen," and we both fell fast asleep. the next day early in the morning Roxy mom and dad were getting the horses ready for Rudy's graduation exam. Rudy quietly asks "we're going to have to leave the yard we can't just do it here" Roxy smiled and said "yes we can't do it anywhere near the village we might actually destroy it"Rudy seemed a very unsure of himself. dad says "for whatever reason he doesn't want to leave the house"
Roxy smiles and says, "Rudy, you act like a kid when I least expect it." She takes him up, puts some I'm on the horse, and they ride off. After they went, I started my sword training since now that I won't be getting magic instruction, I'll have more time to devote to sword practice. "I'm going to start teaching you the water God style," dad says. I nod, and our class begins. After a few hours of sword practice, I asked Dad if I may go into town, and he said yes.
On my way to town, I spotted a massive storm cloud developing over there, rather far from the hamlet, and I assumed it was Rudy and Roxy working their magic. When I get in town, there appears to be a traveling bard playing a tune about Brom Stone Road and an elf swordsman. basically According to legend, he spent 100 years teaching me in three swordsmanship schools. Then he spends 100 years adapting them to his own style, integrating the greatest aspects of the three into one.
Essentially, Brom then spent his life fighting and challenging the world's strongest people, known as the seven world powers. He initially vanquished the north God Kalman III and obtained his magical sword called King Dragon Sword Kajakuto, which he never used. He next fought and defeated the water God before proceeding to the sword God. Then his mission to discover the Death God began, and when he found him, he defeated him as well. Taking him to the fifth strongest person in the planet.
Anyway, that's the gist of what The Bard was singing. I approached the bard after his song and inquired, "Is Brom real?" The Bard laughs and says, "Of course he's real, my boy, he started his own School in the Fittoa Region about 2 days travel from here." I nod and ask, "Okay, what are the seven world powers?" "The seven world powers are the strongest in the world, there are stone monuments that keep track of them, nobody knows where the upper four are," the Bard exclaimed. I believe the current rating is as follows: First, there is the technique God, followed by the dragon God, and there is the fighting God. then comes the demon god then you have the north God, followed by the death God in last but not least you have the sword God"
I bid The Bard farewell as I left to play with Sylphiette, where I would spend the majority of the day becoming closer to my cute little elf companion. When I returned home in the evening, I met my parents, Lilia, and Rudy. I recently learnt that Rudy has finally mastered a saint rank water magic, and I congratulate him on his advancement. We all eat a delicious dinner before retiring to bed.
