23 Climbing back

{Part 1}

Let's turn back time a little bit.

After they escaped the Magic Crystal, Reinhard didn't have the time to catch his breath as he was immediately attacked by the Dungeon Boss.

It was a gigantic Kobold fully armed with armor and weapons. It could use Sword God Style, Water God Style, and even North God Style techniques. It even had magic items rendering nearly Reinhard's sword attacks and Sylphy's magic useless.

It's not only that, but they also have to look at the Kobold Shaman that could use different kinds of magic unheard before.

Magic like summoning skeletons, undeads, wraiths, and ghouls. There's even a kind of magic that manipulated gravity, Electric attacks that could bypass the defenses of Touki, Mental attacks to confuse the enemies, and many more.

It was truly a troublesome opponent.

The usually invincible Reinhard is wounded in a fight for the first time of his life, and it was even severe to the point Sylphy had to exhaust her Mama reserves to get him back to his fighting condition.

However no matter how much Mana she used, she couldn't heal back some scars. Those scars were made by the shaman kobold when it used magic to create an acid attack.

Based on Reinhard's assumptions, this Dungeon had two bosses which made increases its difficulty exponentially.

Days passed after fighting nonstop and finally they emerged victorious.

They directly fought the Dungeon Boss and conquered a 1000+ floor dungeon. After that the path to escape the Dungeon Boss room opened.

Now their next objective after surviving that was to find a way back up to the surface.

{Part 2}

The sound of labored breathing boomed in the young man's ears—his own breathing. Reinhard knew gasping for air like this would only reveal his position to any potential enemies, but his body unforgivingly ignored his will.

He'd survived countless battles monsters and humans alike. His body was tempered like steel and made stronger thanks to wearing Touki.

But even with his muscles and endurance augmented to extraordinary levels, his body still had human limitations. His lungs still required oxygen, burning sugars and fat to produce energy. His muscles then consumed that energy, converting the oxygen to carbon dioxide that would be expelled from his lungs.

This was a principal shared by all human beings. It would hold true no matter what level of experience this young man had, regardless of his status as a Knight of the Asuran Kingdom.

"Shit! Sylphy rain down on them with magic!"

Reinhard knew that they're in a very nasty situation. They are trapped in a dungeon that spawns out countless monsters in all directions.

They had to keep an eye at all directions and they can't afford to relax their concentration even for a split second, or else it would be proven fatal.

"Yes!" Fighting side by side by her Lord, there's nothing more joyous than that. Sylphy thought so.

Despite her inexperience, Reinhard's teachings had already tempered Sylphy's mentality when it comes to combat.

Right now she's even capable of slaying a horde of monsters all on her own with chantless magic masterfully.

"To think that we're deep in the dungeon. I have a shitty luck." Reinhard cursed with a bloodthirsty smile in his face.

Reinhard and Sylphy fought entrusting their backs to one another. They knew that if they wanted to escape this godforsaken place, they had to cooperate and fight like their lives depended on it.

"Reinhard-sama! Another Kobold chief incoming with their pack!"

"Goddamn those fucking cheap copy of a Dragon."

Kobolds were a kind of monsters that existed in this dungeon. Legends says that their ancestors are once Dragons, hence they have some kind of thin Dragon bloodline within them.

However if you associate them with the all-powerful dragons, it would be considered as an insult.

Despite that they're strength aren't to be trifled with. Kobolds in this dungeon could use sword techniques of the Sword God Style and Water God Style which made them dangerous. They're also capable with using magic to a certain extent, what's more this magic is not like what humans do but more of a part of their nature as a monster.

Sylphy was a bad match-up with them so Reinhard had to take them down by himself. Not that Sylphy couldn't do so, but because killing them required too much Mana.

"Oraaaa!!! EAT SHIT!!!"

He swung his sword with great ease as it produced destructive shockwaves through the enemies.

Reinhard's elegance and poise as a Knight was long gone as he fight like a wild feral animal.

Sylphy assisted in the rear guard giving backline support to Reinhard. Simply she's using magic to crowd control them and Reinhard will finish them off with minimal force.

They both fought together with incredible efficiency and timing.

Soon the monsters were all killed as their corpses were left in the ground like a pile of trash.

"Let's hurry up before another waves of monsters spawns."

Reinhard gave his command feeling the fatigue and exhaustion from Sylphy's face.

{Part 3}

Reinhard and Sylphy sheltered themselves inside a cave created with Earth Magic.

In there Sylphy healing magic on Reinhard's injuries making sure he's completely healthy.

"How many has it been?"

"I deeply apologize Reinhard-sama. But I have already lost count."

"I see."

Based on Reinhard's biological clock, they have been trapped in this dungeon for a quite a while now.

"That's right, Reinhard-sama. Happy 10th Birthday! I asked Lilia-san to send you the gift, but I never thought you'd come home so I can't give you my gift right now." Sylphy looked dejected.

Reinhard didn't blame her, and he isn't shameless to demand a gift. Just the sentiment was enough for him.

"Thanks a lot Sylphy. You've also grown up quite bit now huh." Reinhard suddenly patted her head softly like he used to do when they're still younger.

Sylphy's ears flapped like wings in embarrassment as she mumbled "Awawa~"

Back in the village she continued working hard improving her magic and learning things from Lilia. She also had grown taller than she's used to be.

"Come on let's get to sleep. We still have a long day ahead tomorrow. Good night, Sylphy."

"Yes. Good night Reinhard-sama."

They couldn't possibly know wether it's morning or night, but they still said it.

After that they rested after a long day of climbing up this accursed dungeon.
