1 My First Day At A Crazy Orphanage

Chapter 1

Nina's P.O.V

"Attention all children at the orphanage. We have a new child in the orphanage and we hope you will all treat her like part of the orphanage, thank you all". I watched the head of the orphanage speak through the mic to all the children, wanting everyone to notice me like I was some sort of princess. "Follow me this way, I will show you to your room" she was leading me out the door into the hallway. As we walked, we passed a room and I couldn't help but to stare at a boy who was all alone on his bed writing in a book as his gaze meet mine. He had green eyes, black wavy hair. he was gorgeous but lonely, and that made me sad.

"Miss Wood's, there you are, I thought I lost you" she followed my gaze and saw him. She told me to follow her into the room. "Mr James" she calls his attention towards us "This is Miss Nina Wood's and I would like it if you would take her around the orphanage tomorrow" she said while he just stared at me like I had something on my face, which made me look down at my feet.

"Do I have a choice" he said while switching his attention back to Miss Helen.

"My name Nina Wood's" I said with my hand out while he just looked at it.

"I know already, she already said it. And am Dylan, Dylan James" I took back my hand and gave him a small smile.

"Nice to meet you Dylan" I said with a shy smile.

"Okay, you both can continue this conversation later, I still need to show Miss Wood's to her room" and I followed her to my room, waiting for the time I will meet him again.

Dylan's P.O.V

I was on my bed writing how my day was and Today I lost one of the people in my life, another one of them adopted and gone forever, never to return to the hell hole called an orphanage. As I wrote my thoughts in the book I couldn't help but to feel eyes on me. I turn to the open door to see a little girl, eight or nine and she walked into my room with Miss Helen. "Mr James" She said. "This is Miss Nina Wood's and I would like it if you would take her around the orphanage tomorrow" she said but I couldn't help but to look at the little girl who was looking at her feet.

"Do I have a choice" I knew that she wanted me to get over Jack my best friend and she always thought about me.

"My name is Nina Wood's" she said with her hand out trying to be nice but I just don't want to feel attached.

"I know already, she already said it. And am Dylan, Dylan James" I introduced myself not to look like a total prick.

"Nice to meet you Dylan". She was nice and I could help but to feel connected to her but our talk was soon cut short.

"Okay you both can continue this conversation later, I still need to show Miss Wood's to her room" Miss Helen took her away and I felt lonely all again.

.......

I was at the dinning all alone at a table when Nina came along giving me a small smile. "Seems like we have to push that tour to right about now" she said eager to know everywhere

"Am busy" I replied her.

"With what, your thoughts or being the social outcast of the orphanage. Well you don't have to worry because I bet am also going to be a social outcast at this orphanage too" she said trying this be sarcastic.

"So what do you want to know about the orphanage" i asked her wanting to get this over with

"Well everything but first am Nina Wood's, you already know that, am nine years old and I been adopted six times and being moved to six different Forester homes" she said while putting on a huge smile

"How come that many parents" I asked

"First were vegetarians, second Jewish, third were creeps, forth too authoritative, fifth too abusive and sixth, well, it's complicated" she said as her smile started to fade

"Am Dylan James, Am seventeen and I never been adopted" I said trying to make her feel a little bit comfortable.

"Well you're lucky, adopted parents can be kind of a drag sometimes, trust me" she said and for some reason I kind of felt use to her even though we just meet.

"Who are those guys" she said while pointing at Chase's table. Chase had blonde wavy hair, blue eyes and most of the girls at the orphanage wanted to be his girl but he had eyes for the most prettiest girl in the orphanage, Beth. She had long brown hair that reached her lower back, brown eyes and a polite personality. She was like an angel.

"Those are the big kids, kid over fifteen" I said.

"So why aren't you over there" she asked.

"Like you said, am a social outcast" I said.

"Let's forget I ever said that, I kind of tend to talk too much" she said.

********

"So what do you guys do here for fun" she asked as we walk through the hallway.

"Well, unless you count playing tag with a bunch of five year olds. Nothing" I said.

"Well, I am going be a social outcast but at least walking with the cutest guy in the orphanage isn't so bad" she said.

"You think am the cutest guy at the orphanage" I replied.

"Yeah, you're way cuter than that Chase guy, creepy, but cute"

"I don't believe am listening to a nine year old"

"Hey, if a guy says you're ugly, his being mean, if a girl says it, she being envious and if a kid says you're ugly, dude you're ugly. But you aren't" her word made me give her a crazy stare.

"Yes I saw that comment on a picture, now stop giving me that crazy stare" she had a crazy sense on humor.

*********

later at nine o'clock I was in my room writing how my day turned out to be not so bad and i heard a small knock on my door and a head popped out. "Mind if I come in" Nina asked.

"You're already in" I replied her question.

"Okay, big brother" I was shocked at what she called me as she came in with Anna another nine year old girl at the orphanage.

"Big brother" I pointed out.

"Yeah, Miss Helen said we're family so, yeah, big brother" she said.

"Okay, what do you want baby sis" I asked.

"Well, I just wanted you to read this poem that Anna's found" she handed me an old piece of paper which was obviously not completed due to the fact that part of it was missing.

"Okay, come sit" I said as they both climb my bed.

"Nightmares only exist in our dreams

As the illusions is not what it's seems

If to be true

is to be you

but all good things come to end when darkness rears it ugly head

living sadness as our only comfort as it is died" but the last words were what confused me.

"Left nothing there's until kill and out come"

it made no sense. "Crazy poem" I said.

"That's what I told her but I like crazy, it's just keeps everything exciting" Nina said. what a crazy poem. I kept on repeating the words in my head.

"Can we sleep here" Anna asked.

"Sure I'll just sleep in Jack's bed" I told them

"Your old roommate" Nina asked.

"Yeah, and a lifetime friend" so I turned off the lights as the words kept on playing in my head.

"Left nothing there's until kill and out come".
