Prologue: Blood Runs Thicker

The clock struck twelve. Tick tock. Tick tock. The time unknowingly had selected someone's fate. My heart started to flutter when I spotted him sauntering into the room. My prey called out my name in the night, and I felt it deep in my bones. The tables had turned, and I giddily ran my blade down my arm to calm myself.

My heart started to beat harder, and I giggled. Adrenaline seeped into my bones. The rushing feeling started to pulse in my ears. The knife in my hand burned against my skin, and I clutched it harder. The thrill of killing was incomparable anything. The hot blood against my skin, the hard bodies pressed against my own, the scent of death upon the room. What a wonderous feeling.

Crawling forward like a snake, I found my way behind the foolish, lonesome man. He thought to be meeting a woman for a night of debauchery. Such a disgrace upon mankind.

He barely turned around before I struck. The blade found his boorish neck, and I pressed my lips to his. He stiffened in shock, and I blessed him with the kiss of my blade. Warmth filled my hand, and the brilliant crimson liquid stained my skin. Lovely.

The blade was warm with his blood, and I dragged it down his body. Now was time to make my masterpiece. Cutting his body into ribbons, I soothingly stroked his face. His eyes were dull, and I sighed in happiness. He would have made a beautiful doll. Beautiful, indeed.

I gouged out his eyes, and I threw them onto the bed. He didn't deserve the pleasure of looking at me like this. When I looked my best, I would only reserve it only for my true loved one. It hurt that he did not acknowledge my presence. My heart ached for him and his heart alone, but yet he continued to touch that other woman.

It should not hurt this much. But it did. It really did. It felt as though my heart was being ripped out of my chest repeatedly. My body was hot, and the burning sensation was uncomfortable. My head always hurt, pounding where my heart could not. My heart was shriveling up by the second, and I could not stand it. I would not continue to live like this. So many men wanted me. But not him.

I started to seethe as the unwanted thoughts assaulted me. I drilled the blade into the lifeless body, enjoying the smooth rhythm. Lovely. Lovely. Lovely.

Soon, my last prize would be my lover. My eternal lover would forever be mine. The day was coming soon. When I could hold his endearing body next to mine, stealing his breath like he stole mine. I could practically smell the sweet blood plastered on the wall.

A grin pulled my lips up, and I leaned back to inspect my masterpiece. Boxing up the pieces of his body, I finished the gift with a crisp bow on top. Someone would eventually come into the room with a nice surprise waiting for them. Petting the velvet box, I brought for the occasion, I sighed. Soon my love. Soon.
