6 Chapter Six; Little Mouse

Mia's eyes stared intently at her mother's lifeless body lying on the ground. Not fully grasping what just happened.

Everything happened so quickly, one minute her mother was talking, and the next she was dead on the cold hard ground. Sebastian was also in a gaping shock as he processed what transpired. He knew his family and the Elite's were different, but he didn't for one second think they would do something like this.

Watching his father move at lightning speed, and drink the blood of the woman, Sebastian thought to himself that it was similar to the 'Vampires' he had read about in his fantasy novels, but those were just stories, not real right? Anxiously, he turned his head to meet his father's red glowing eyes, and he screamed internally.

Sebastian's knees gave out from under him and he dropped to the floor. "No..no..it can't be.." the boy wailed softly while his hands were shaking the sides of his head ruffling his hair in the process.

Although Sebastian also had red eyes, he didn't feel like he too was a vampire. He couldn't be, he had never drank human blood before. He had never wanted to drink it, had he? Everything became a blur and he felt like he couldn't process anything right now.

Robert looked at his now deceased wife, in shock with a look of horror plastered on his face, tears filling his eyes. "M-m-m-Mary? H-h-honey?" Robert said shakily as he got down on the floor kneeling in front of her, gently shaking her lifeless body.

Sebastian's father walked over to Robert rolling him over to his back with a swift motion of his foot. Not quite using his full strength, but just enough to pin down Mr. Winters. His foot was pressing down in between Robert's chest and clavicle.

Struggling to breath, Robert started to cough uncontrollably whilst trying to ask what was going on. His 'Grace' eased up the pressure just enough to allow him to take a few breaths. "Now then Robert. I do believe we had a deal?"

"Yes 'Your Grace' whatever it is... I'll pay it. Just tell me what it is I need to do. I'll do it. Please have mercy 'Your Grace'" Robert cried out while the tears still streamed down his face. His eyes were red and swollen, still unable to catch his breath with the weight of the man on top of him.

"Very good, Robert. Here's what you need to do for me." His 'Grace' said with a devilish grin, looking down on the man watching him grovel for his life. Like he looked down on every other human and peasant. Even amongst the other Elite's, he considered himself above all of them.

"...Die" His 'Grace' continued as he exerted his full strength down onto the man's chest so quickly not giving the man a chance to respond or react.

As he pressed down on Robert's chest cavity and throat, he could hear the bones crunching underneath. Tender flesh being ripped open, blood spurting up into the air. Sebastian's father slammed his foot a few more times into the man for good measure to be sure he had gotten the job done.

Pieces of bone and flesh were strewn about the room, hitting several surfaces including the door of the closet. Mia let out a gasp when pieces of her father hit the door where she was hiding.

As soon as it left her mouth she clamped her hand tighter, internally cursing herself. She just couldn't help herself though. She was mortified and in distress, and most likely now would meet the same fate her parents did.

"Did you hear something Sebastian?" His father looked over to him inquiring as he thought he had heard a faint sound.

While Sebastian did see something earlier coming from the closet, that he tried to mention to his father before things had gotten out of hand, Sebastian thought better of it now after seeing his father in a new light, and decided not to tell him about it anymore. Whatever was in there, would get to live another day, for better or for worse.

"No father, I didn't. Perhaps it was a mouse, or the last breath of the man there." Sebastian said pointing at Mr. Winters, or what remained of him rather.

"Ahh you could be right. After all, everyone must take their last breath eventually. Good. Very well then, Guards!" His 'Grace' shouted to the two men keeping guard outside the door.

As the two men upon hearing their title came forward, ready to receive their orders.

"See to it that you get this mess cleaned up. Do a thorough job, or you'll meet the same fate as those two. Come Sebastian." he continued walking forward out of the Winter's residence without sparing a look back.
