Second Day of High School

------------------

(3rd Person POV)

It was a beautiful morning. The bright sun rays were permeating through the body of every person outside. A cool breeze was blowing, refreshing the people and energizing them.

It was 6 in the morning and many people were in a park for a jog. However, there was someone who looked vastly different from other people.

While most people were dressed in clean clothes and had a smile on their faces as they enjoyed the weather, there was a person who was unclean and had a tired expression.

It was Felix.

Felix was walking slowly while he had his cycle hung on his shoulders, his clothes were smudged with dirt and full of sweat. He had some scrapes on his arms and legs and had a tired visage.

He was trudging weakly while people gawked at him.

Yes, he had been trying out new stuff with his cycle all night. Since he got a taste of this ability, he became obsessed with it.

So, he kept trying new things with it. And he tried many things to see what can he improve by cycling. He just didn't want to improve his cycling ability but improve his overall physical ability.

When he started cycling, he realised that this could be a very important opportunity to improve his physical abilities as well.

As he cycled, he realised that he could improve his hand-eye coordination and split-second decision-making. He does have the first ability that can help him react extremely quickly but cycling can help him improve and refine it.

Professional cyclists can reach up to speeds over 100km/h in assisted spaces, by removing some factors which are against cycling like air resistance, drag and being in a slipstream

Pro cyclists average an unassisted speed of 40-50 km/h on a flat track. It can reach up to 60 km/h easily on a descent, depending upon the angle of the inclined surface.

These people can reach such speeds just by using their own strength and endurance.

The current world record for the fastest assisted speed is 296 km/h (183 miles/hour) which is an abnormal and inhumane speed. The cyclist was put into motion by having her being towed for the first stage of cycling, after the cyclist reached 160 km/h (100 miles/hour), she unclipped herself from the dragster and started accelerating on her own. The dragster was shielding her from any air resistance because if she felt air moving at her in full force, she would have flown away in the gust along with her cycle.

This is just one of the many examples of how a human could go beyond their limits.

The idea of being able to travel at that speed was exhilarating for Felix. As he realised how high he could reach, he promised himself that he would give his sweat, blood and tears in reaching the peak of this field.

When he reached home, he was tired as heck. He might have inhumane abilities but not getting tired from no sleep wasn't one of them.

After he showered, he flopped onto the bed for a quick half-hour nap till the time he has to leave for school.

And the school day passed pretty smoothly. He managed to not oversleep and be late successively. He might have been napping in half the lessons but the teachers were more focused on teaching rather than wasting time by scolding a student.

Though, the mathematics teacher did make him stand up and have him do more questions from a different topic on the pretext of a 'pop quiz'. Felix might have not been able to ace it but he did pretty good considering he only learned this stuff from Gray and Stephen.

In Lunch Time, while Felix was going to doze off again as he didn't bring his wallet to eat from the cafeteria and didn't have the time to make his own lunch, he felt someone putting a hand on his shoulder.

As he turned, he could see the face of Minu having a curious expression while Minu's friend June was standing behind Minu.

Minu asked with curiosity teeming in his tone, "Hey Felix. You are pretty intelligent, huh? How could you solve those questions?"

"Ah, actually I studied some topics a bit earlier. And thankfully, the teacher asked me questions on those topics."

"I see. Well, looks like you are in the bad books of Mr. Kim, huh? He was pretty angry when he saw you solving the questions easily and that stunt on the first day, damn. You got guts."

"Well, I was just a bit annoyed as I had already been pardoned by the principal and still he was saying pure absurdity."

"Yeah, saying that was uncalled for. Anyway, you want to eat some lunch in the cafeteria with the two of us?"

"Hmm... I would but I forgot my wallet at home. Both of you can eat. I would join you on some other day."

Minu offered generously and said, "You don't have to worry about that. I can treat you for today. You seem like a pretty cool guy. Isn't that true, June?"

June smiled and put agreed with what Minu said, "Yeah, Felix. We can treat you for today."

Felix looked at their faces for a moment judging in his mind if both of them seemed trusting, when he saw them, he could see a hint of his old friends in their personalities. He may have not chatted with them a lot but he could still analyse their micro-expressions.

Due to him having abnormal eye sight, he could see every single twitch in a person's face, though he could only do that if he concentrated hard. And he didn't see any form of negative emotions behind them, he could just see curiosity and the feeling of wanting to know the person in front of them.

Felix stood up, tiredness vanishing from his eyes, "Well, ok then. Let's go."
