47 Meeting the Messenger!

(3rd Person POV)
'Hello! Anyone there?', thought a soul of a certain individual. Yes, this was just a soul, floating in this endless void.
The soul was in the form of a fire crackling through the darkness of the void, it had an arctic blue colour as its outer part with white colour being its core.
It radiated in the dark as if a single ray of light was brightening the abyss. It wasn't meant to be there. At least not in that form.
The soul couldn't move from its position but just helplessly try to send off his thoughts hoping the messenger of "God" will answer him like he did last time. Or if there is no reply like in the past few months, then he is going to just lose his mind in this void again.
Fun stuff!
Perhaps responding to his sarcasm, pressure descended over the space. It seemed to affect the void itself as if taking the void as a material substance.
The soul of the unfortunate one was able to feel the force as well, he didn't realize it last time, but it was absolutely suffocating. As if the impact was clenching his windpipe if he had one, twisting it slowly and mauling it, stopping him from breathing slowly but surely.
His presence would just scream danger to anyone, even to a person who had no fighting sense. But to Felix who had honed his fighting sense and could inherently sense how much was a person strong. However, that worked till peak human powers only. He was still nothing but a smudge of dirt in front of these transcendental beings.
His soul quivered under the pressure as it started shaking intensely.
Humph!
A sound as if someone was snorting was 'heard' by Felix. Shockwaves came rushing at him passing through his soul and threatening to tear him from his position. The force behind it was strong enough to make Felix think as if he was a rope in a tug of war.
Being pulled by different sides, the shockwaves against some other power that had cemented his position. Making him writhe in his mind due to the pain he could feel in his soul.
'Ugh!'
'Kyuugh!'
'Krak!'
After that exhausting struggle, Felix's soul was still crackling albeit lethargically. His consciousness had been affected severely due to the impact of the entrance of an otherwordly being.
A voice boomed out with authority and said, "How did the first world treat you, mortal?"
Felix barely managed to send his thoughts out, 'I-It was a g-good experience. Are you the messenger whom I met the first time?'
Cackle!
The voice guffawed out and said in an amused tone, "Yes, I am. You seem to be surprised by the change between me then and me now?"
'Yes, respected being. I was slightly taken aback. I apologize if the reason you seemed agitated was due to some discourtesy I showed to you.'
"Haha, you indeed are a unique existence among all. I can see why my lord favours you. It may have felt that I was agitated to you but that is just the usual consequence of my everyday actions. Last time your soul was weaker so you would have disintegrated into nothingness if I allowed my actions to affect you so I restrained myself, now your soul has gained some substance so you can handle my actions if they aren't focused on you albeit barely."
'I see. Thank you for giving me the chance to live. I am grateful for the adjustments you made for me.'
The messenger of God said in a satisfied tone, "Good use of words, mortal. I have seen reincarnators like you gaining that measly power and trying to act arrogant in front of me or think badly about my lord. I hope you do not suffer the fate they had to go through. Because I can guarantee it would not have been pretty."
'I know my limits. I will remain in them.'
"I will hope that remains true for the remainder of your journey. Let's move on to your next world. Just like before we will be giving you a gift, something which will optimise you for that world. However, there will be a change this time. You would not be getting free reign this time. You will get some requests that you would have to fulfil on the behalf of my lord. Nothing too much... You are free to decline them if it goes against your morality but-"
The atmosphere gets slightly chillier and the crackling soul started trembling. Felix felt as if a humongous snake had grabbed him by the neck, smothering him while he tries to escape its grasp desperately as dread clouded his mind.
"I wish you to remember that free food doesn't exist."
This was a statement laced with threat. Felix is getting these abilities/powers from these otherworldly beings. They might be similar to Gods but in no way, they are selfless and all-giving.
The law of equivalent exchange...
What thee taketh, thee wilt giveth in equal.
Quod accipis, aequo des.

...
'I w-would definitely k-keep that i-in my mind.'
"Ah, well then. Off you go to the next world! I wish you luck in that as well."
A massive light emerges out of nowhere, engulfing Felix's soul to transport him to another world.
After that light recedes from where it came from, the messenger of God remains in that space for a moment before he moves at great speed, sending devastating shockwaves everywhere, affecting the plane itself.
The messenger appeared in a humanoid form as it was bowing in front of something, something superior.
The messenger nervously said, "May the lord have mercy upon this poor wretched being."
"Mercy Granted."
"I order you to enter my domain, Nuntius."

Ayy, what a surprise, huh? I am gonna add a tonne of lore which is needed for preparing the ending arc of this fanfic. I hope I am able to write till then. ಥ‿ಥ
I am ill that's why the one piece fanfic isn't getting updated, I had written this chapter last week.
