Chapter2:Beginning

Nero spent the next two days in meditation, after doing some calculations, Nero had come to realize that he gained somewhere between six to ten units of mana every hour he spent absorbing energy; this had raised his mana count to 700 this past three days.He also added a few other features to the suit which didn't cost too much and decided to create a D-rank AI assistant to help run the suit and make analysis for him.

(AN: Calculations may not be accurate buh I don't care about that neither should you.😁)

So after two days of doing nothing besides meditation and redesign he now had 300 from the original 700 as his mana count. After doing so, he had three options, invest the points in evolving his nanites from rank E to rank D, option two was to save them just in case he needs to build something and option three was to awaken more of the dormant E rank nanites.

After deliberation he decided to save them since his measly points wouldn't even get him 10% closer to the next evolution which required ten thousand points.

He built a back-up energy cell which would power the suit in case something happened to the current one.

During this time, he had experimented with the system and realized he could deform and reform his nanites at will, anything he saved in his database would be reformed faster than creating a new construct and used less energy.

This made storing his weapons easy since he could just deform the nanites and reform them when needed, but just to be safe, Nero had his weapons on him, besides rebuilding them would coat him energy he didn't have. A battle could ensue at anytime and every drop of mana counts during such a critical time, but it was nice to know he could create another weapon if his current one broke.

Even breaking his current weapons was a scary feat since they were more durable than normal steel, the nanites could not build things as hard as diamonds;not yet anyway but that would change as he increased their rank.

Something else that came as a surprise was the fact that Nero didn't need food to survive, he had not eaten or slept for days but he was feeling more energetic than ever. The system had credited this to the nanites providing him with mana as a substitute for food.

After a long wait, the time finally came for Nero to leave his safe cocoon. After checking and double checking his equipment he nodded to himself in determination and instructed the system to dassipate the energy bubble, the system obeyed.

Nero's POV

Immediately after the energy bubble disappeared, I found myself in a forest full of luscious green trees not so different from earth's, looking around I sighed in relief as I hoped I was in a universe where humans still existed.

As if to shatter my dreams, far ahead in the sky, I could see what appeared to be an island which floated leisurely and stood in place defying all I knew about such things not being possible.

Unless they have access to more advanced tech, this could pose a problem since they could have better equipment than me.

'Activate suit at 10% power.' I ordered the AI in the suit and smiled happily as the suit came to life. I changed the suit's color to green so as to match my current environment and started running in the opposite direction of the floating island.

I didn't want to fight unless I absolutely had to; since I had no idea of the capability of my opponents, they could be aliens strong enough to break my suite for all I knew.

{Warning sensors detect 24 entities in pursuit, current distance is 2 kilometers and closing, they will reach you in two minutes if they maintain their current speed. } A womanly voice warned, I stumbled in shock as I heard that.

My last scan suggested they were 5 kilometers of my location but they were closing in fast,with their current speed I had no other choice but to increase the power output of my suite.

"Increase output to 60%and focus it all on boosters, take partial control over suit and try to outrun them."I instructed the AI without delay, my skill in using the suit was subpar so I created an AI which would do the difficult tasks in my stead.

{Roger.} The voice replied and just like that I felt a sudden increase in speed, my eyes could not easily keep up with my current speed, my speed was far beyond human capability. I was going at at least a hundred kilometers an hour my surroundings became a blur as I quickly passed by them.

'Fuck this is great!' I exlaimed internally as my breathing became heavier.

"How far are the pursuers?" I asked, hoping to have atleast opened up distance between us since I could feel I had traveled more than a kilometer in 15 seconds.

{6 of them are currently hot on your heels.} I was once again shocked by this, it seemed that I was dealing with people who were fast since there was no way cars would travel this quick in such a dense forest.

"Use 100% power and get me the fuck out of here!" I ordered, things were getting more complicated, I absolutely didn't want to fight people able to keep up with me while I was running so fast.

{Calculations show that the chances of success are slim, host is advised to preserve energy and try to negotiate with these beings.}The system suggested, seeing as the situation had gotten to this point, I stopped running.

"Activate defensive protocols and give me back control." I said grimly.

{Done and done. Persures are currently 1 kilometers away.....600m....400m 100m 20m. Targets seem to have stopped and are now hiding.}The AI informed.

"Activate infrared goggles."I ordered, my vision changed and I started seeing as more people started converging on my location and surrounding me until all 24 of my pursuers where gathered around me.

3rd Person POV

"State you're purpose intruder!!" After a long deathly silence a masculine voice aggressively questioned. Nero frowned when he heard Japanese, he thought this was another planet but it seemed it was somehow still tied to his old world.

"I just happened to be passing by here, I mean you no harm." A robotic voice originating from Nero resounded in the forest. It was neither male or female just an eerie emotionless voice

"What and who are you and where do you come from!?" The voice asked yet again.

"Who I am matters not, but I am human and I come from a place called earth."Nero said, when his persues heard this, they didn't even hesitate and started attacking since they assumed he was a spy here to get information.

Their village had just declared war on the rest of the hidden villages and he also suddenly shows up? They did not think this was a coincidence.

Nero was shocked as a gust of powerful wind hit his back and caused him to collide with a tree, he also didn't stand by and started raining bullets from his Ak-47. The bullets exploded as upon contact with anything and caused the attackers to retreat in fear.

Never had they seen such deadly weapons, the speed of those projectiles was insane, feeling pressured by this unknown being the strongest of the bunch issued a swift retreat and resorted to using ranged justsu and kunai while the weaker and inexperienced ones hid behind trees for cover, frozen in fear to the unknown.

He was shocked again by what he saw, the man in strange armor was able to evade their jutsu even though they were attacking his blindspots.

The being just let the kunai bounce off his form harmlessly and continued to rain hell on his team. From the original 24, 3 people had fallen to the strange weapons explosive projectiles.

A fight ensued as Nero fought off the people he now knew where humans, the equipment they used seemed familiar to him and the kept shouting names of their attacks which added on to this nagging feeling Nero had.

'They seem to be able to use some strange elemental energy.' Nero mused to himself as he deformed his weapon and used the maximum speed of his suit to attack the nearest one.

He made a quick draw of his tantō and easily cut through the tree the man was using for cover, the sword went through the tree and sliced off the man's arm.

The man let out a shrill, short lived scream as Nero cut off his head and went on to attack another one.

"Fuck capturing him alive, kill that thing!!" The guy who seemed to be the leader instructed and threw a kunai with a paper attached to it. Listening to his instincts, Nero parked the kunai but was shocked to see it explode and push him back.

{Unit has sustained 30% damage, external cameras disabled, be careful sir I can't cover some of you're blindspots anymore.} The AI warned hurriedly as it began to divert other nanites to repair the damage sustained by the suit.

"Use nanites to cover my vitals." Nero ordered calmly as he jumped out of the way of a huge bolder.

{Done, suit reconfigured to protect vitals.} The assistant AI chirped, Nero couldn't feel the changes besides the visible movement of the nanites.

'System use 300 points to awaken more nanites and add them to the suit.' Nero instructed as he took a stance and once again rushed into battle.

At first his movements were clumsy and he would stumble due to no being used to high speeds but as the minutes ticked by he was getting better and better. Nero also realized this oddity, his comprehension speed was at astounding levels.

'Is it the nanites?' Naro mused while he took cover behind a bolder.

DING!

[Host is correct, the nanaites are being destroyed and rebuilt with new information which is also fed to the host's brain and muscles, but this comes at the cost of mana points per nanite reconstructed.Host should note that he lost a considerable amount from the last hit he sustained.]

'What! How many points do I have left then?.' Nero asked in worry since he didn't know that the nanites required mana to build more nanites.

[Host currently has 156 nanites remaining.] The system informed Nero.

' I have to escape!' Nero impatiently thought as his situation was getting worse.

"Fuck!" Nero cursed as he tore through another tree and decapitated another enemy.

"How many enemies are left?"He asked the suit's AI

{Thirteen enemies are still capable of combat.} The AI replied after doing a short scan.

'I'm not dying here, fuck that! System use the remaining points to create a powerful explosive.' Nero decided to go for a risky plan that would decide the outcome of this battle.

DING!

[Using 120 points.] The system said in a monotonous voice.

The nanites within Nero's body started to come out and formed a strange sphere that glowed in an eerie blue.

Not wasting time Nero threw the bomb towards where most of the enemies where concentrated and made a run for it.

After opening a 130m gap within a few second, he ordered the bomb to detonate, he didn't bother to look back as he ran hoping the explosion would be enough to distract them.

Back at the battlefield...

Right when Nero threw the bomb and ran, the enemies were about to give chase when they suddenly saw a strange glowing object explode in a flash of bright intense light that devoured six of the thirteen survivors.

"Halt! Don't give chase!" The leader ordered.

"But he killed our people! You can't expect us to let him go!" A hotblooded youth bellowed in rage.

"That thing killed more than half our team moron, going after him might just lead us to the same fate. It is better we regroup and inform our lord that the other villages might be making a move. Besides we lost our sensor so how will we track him?." The leader spoke in a domineering tone leaving no room for argument.

The youth clenched his fist in rage but nonetheless nodded in compliance.

Back at Nero....

After running for almost an hour and burning through his reserve energy Nero's suit finally ran out of power. Not wasting time Nero exited the suit and started considering his options.

Seeing as his persures didn't give chase he felt it was best to assume they gave up.

After deliberation, Nero picked up the suit and dragged it to a nearby cave. He dug a hole and placed the suit inside before changing his own clothes to look as harmless as possible.

He now wore black combat boots that had no special argumentation, black pants that were as hard as metal but as flexible as cloth. He wore a hoodie and black glasses before leaving the cave after marking it.

Nero traveled for hours along a dirt road that he stumbled upon after leaving the forest.

As the sun set, he finally stumbled upon a small quite village, the houses seemed to belong to an old Japanese Era and the townspeople also wore traditional Japanese attire.

Nero realized that he currently on a planet decades behind modern earth, strongly enough he also saw people who wore distinctive clothes and gave off a strange vibe to them.

Although they hid it well, how could Nero not feel the aura they emitted. It reminded him back on his days as a mercenary, the scent of death lingered all over them.

They also wore headbands that had an image drawn on the metal plates.

'It seems as if I'm inside an anime world, specifically Naruto. I'll need to do some more digging to find out.'Nero mused as he walked around in the shadows to avoid detection.

He eventually came across an inn, he knew this because he could read and speak Japanese fluently.

Entering the inn he found almost zero patrons inside, only a bored girl who seemed to be 19 years old sitting on the counter with a bored look adorned on her face.

"Welcome to our humble inn traveler, what can I do for you today." The girl beamed a smile as she saw Nero approach.

Taking off his hoodie and glasses Nero gave an innocent smile and shocking the girl.

"Excuse the intrusion but I am in desperate need of help, I am a traveling merchant and a few days ago while my convoy from the land of fire to sell some products we got attacked and those damned bandits took everything.It is only through luck that I survived bit they might come for me since I am quite wealthy so could you please hide me, I promise to pay you back handsomely for this, my colleagues are on their way as we speak." Nero spoke in a respectful tone as he instantly formed a story to tell the awestruck girl.

"A- ah yeah sure, I am so sorry to hear such unfortunate news sir." The girl replied while blushing immensely after staring at Nero's otherworldly face a few seconds.

"Thank you very much, my name's Matoi Rei, what would yours be?"Nero/ Rei asked with a disarming smile as he offered his hand to the girl.

"Mizuki Amare, nice to meet you Matoi." She said in a sweet voice as she took his hand.

"Please, just call me Rei." Nero said with a smile.

"Alright, then you can also call me Amare. Please enjoy your stay here. Things haven't been that active these past few months so having such a ha- humble gentleman like you is very refreshing." Amare said with a smile as she poured Nero/Rei a drink.

"Thank you very much, do tell me why this place is so silent these days." Nero probed as he took a sip of the sake.

"This place has become quite tense after the hidden sky declared war on all the hidden villages two months ago. You must've not heard because you were traveling but the situation is not looking great. The hidden sky has faced two attacks from Konoha and Kumo. Both attacks ended up being repelled but the villages of the outskirts of Sora suffered greatly. We don't know when the next attack will comd but it will probably lead to the fall of Sara's capital, the floating island." The girl said with a sure look on her face which surprised Nero/ Rei.

"The lord wouldn't have declared war if he wasn't confident in his victory though, maybe he has a hidden weapon and he's getting ready to unleash it soon." Nero/ Rei suggested, he knew that the lord of Sora was confident in the parasitic entity known as the 0 tails but in the movie Sora was still crushed while having such a weapon.

"Hmph! He's just an idiot who has his head so far up his ass he can't see he brought uneeded suffering to us just to gain more money." Amare spoke with venom in her tone as she also started drinking some sake.

"Hehe....that scowl doesn't suit your face Amare, if you feel like something doesn't satisfy you the you simply have to change it. It's better than standing by and watching powerlessly as people walk over you." Nero/ Rei said with a light tone, but his eyes became colder and more focused as a chill descended in the room.

"I am but a simple civilian, there's nothing I can do besides complain and drink sake." Amare said in regret, Nero/ Rei could see that she dreamed to be something more.

"You never know, thing like that can change just like this.(SNAP!)" Nero/ Rei snapped his fingers as he downed another cup of sake and accepted more from Amare.

"You're very easy to talk to Rei." Amare said with a smile adorning her face.

"So I've been told, but I think it is you who brings the pleasure in this conversation."Nero/Rei chuckled lightly and took a sip of his drink.

Just like that hours passed by as Nero spent hours talking to Amare about random things. Occasionally he would probe her for information.
