Chapter 12 - No more secrets

"You said earlier that only beings of supernatural origin can enter this area. So what are you exactly?" Alice asked, tilting her head cutely to the side.

The question took me by surprise; I never took the time to think of what exactly I was in this world. An apostle? No, since I wasn't sent here on a specific mission. A human? Could I really call myself a human with all the supernatural abilities in my possession?

As I kept rummaging through my thoughts, Alice's prying eyes never left me as she observed my every action trying to figure me out as best as she could. The increasing expectation was practically emanating out of her.

Seeing as I was coming up blank, I decided to list the actual facts. I'm a reincarnator who was granted abilities by some Random Omnipotent Being. And to my knowledge, reincarnators are still classified as humans unless they're given a racial change.

So without further ado, I steeled my resolve and replied to the expecting Alice, "A human?" I asked more than answered.

Alice, who had been kept on her toes the whole time, comically deflated when she heard my answer. "A human!?" She exclaimed incredulously, "and you call ME boring!" she added while pointing at herself.

"Well, I'm not completely normal. You see, I'm a human with some special abilities." I said in my defense, immediately regaining Alice's attention.

"Really!? What kind?" She asked excitedly; I could swear I managed to see stars in her eyes at that moment.

"Well, for instance, I can move my ears," I said while slightly twitching my ears up and down.

The excitement in Alice's eyes completely vanished, as she was left with a depressed and disappointed expression.

While I purposefully ignored her and simply kept listing all the unusual but relatively normal human things I could do.

"I can lick my elbow ..."

The more normal things I listed, the more demoralized Alice seemed to get; seeing that she had hit rock bottom, I decided to stop messing around.

Extending my hand forward with my palm pointing downward.

[Room]

I created a room; The usual transparent blue sphere extended from below my hand and encompassed the whole world Tree area.

And without Alice noticing,

[Shambles] x2

I switched our current position with the leaves at the top of the World Tree, a location that gave us a view of the whole of Paris. As the Tree was as tall as a skyscraper.

Alice felt the quick change of location and the increased breeze at our new height. She quickly stood up and started looking around her at the stunning view of the illuminated city below.

After a couple of seconds, Alice turned around and stared at me with clear wonder in her eyes. "How?" She asked in her Tinkerbell-like voice.

"I told you, didn't I? I'm a human with some special powers." I replied with a smirk as I kept glancing at the beautiful view.

Alice kept looking at me in wonder for a couple of seconds before she graciously stood up, walked on top of the Tree, making sure not to fall off, and took a seat next to me. Settling for simply admiring the view at the moment.

After what felt like 30 minutes of observing this one-in-a-lifetime view, Alice couldn't keep her curiosity astray any longer and decided to start asking the questions that threatened to burst out of her mouth.

"How did you do that? Was it teleportation? Are you some sort of metahuman? A superhero, maybe? An alien? Or were you perhaps experimented on as a kid? ..." As the flood gate, known as Alice's mouth, opened. I was bombarded with so many questions I had trouble understanding them all. Seeing as there was no end to her string of questions. I lifted my hand and shushed her by placing my index finger on her small lips. Forcibly closing said flood gate.

Once Alice seemed to finally calm down, "One question at a time, Alice, after all, the night is still young." I said.

Alice took a couple of seconds before speaking as I could see the gears turn in her head. Before she settled for an appropriate question to ask, "How?"

"Well, it all started when I stumbled into this strange gated area around the world Tree ..." I started recounting how I had obtained my powers to Alice.

I told her everything in great detail, from how hard it was to obtain the Holy Fruit and the different challenges I had to face to reach the top of the World Tree. To discovering, testing, and improving my newly obtained supernatural abilities and finally how each of my abilities worked in general without talking about any world travel as I didn't want people like Aro to find out if he ever made contact with her.

Alice had trusted me with her secret as a vampire, a secret that could cost hers and her family's life. Unlike Bella, who had discovered their secret on her own. I was directly told by her, which is a direct breach of their Vampire laws, if the news ever came out, she would be harshly punished; and most likely executed by the Volturi. So it was only fair that I share whatever I can with her.

Through my tale, I enjoyed the different emotions that graced Alice's face, her face lit up like a Christmas Tree, with different colors and emotions at the marvels I could do with my powers, she would be disgusted by some and elated by others.

She, of course, begged me to use her as a test subject as I made her float around and allowed her to experience flight for the first time, on the other hand, her face contrasted in disgust when I used [Mes] to pop her non-beating heart from its stone-cold socket. I learned a lot by dismantling her, for one Vampires, don't have blood in their systems even though they drink blood. What makes them so human-like in nature is what Alice called venom, a colorless liquid that had the properties and role to perform any functions that are still necessary for a completely functioning body. The only function that seemed completely lost to vampires, was the production of tears, as the main role of tears is to protect and clean the eyes from any external damage, and with eyes as though as diamonds it was unlikely for them to receive any damage.

Mine and Alice's talk continued through the night till the first rays of dawn kissed the top of the World Tree, lighting Alice's skin in a shimmering diamond-like hue. The only word I could think of while looking at her strange mesmerizing skin was {weird}. It baffled me how her skin that looked like any others shined so brightly in the sun. Even though, she took the time to explain this strange phenomenon in great detail; I still had trouble wrapping my head around it.

"What do you think?" Alice asked as she let her hands bask in the sunlight.

"Definitely a strange sight," I said as I got a closer look at her shimmering skin. "Will probably need some sunglasses if we ever hang out in any sunny locations," I added teasingly.

She lightly tapped my shoulder jokingly before cocking her head back and laughing a full belly laugh. Letting her tinker siren-like voice bask the world in its contagious joyful tune.
