Chapter 1

Bang! Bang!

I pressed the trigger again, letting two other bullets leave the gun and wiggle in the shape of a ball to splatter colours on the wall opposite me.

I smiled as the colours splashed on the face of the person I hated the most in the world; Emily Dawson.

If only it was her face in reality and not just a picture on the wall, I mused.

Tilting my head, a plan came to my ingenious mind.

"Hey Rex, do you think you could give me some real bullets instead of these lousy paintballs?" I asked him sweetly, feeling the strange urge to put real bullets in Emily's photo.

Or maybe shoot them into her head in school tomorrow. Who knows what I would do.

Rex, the son of the owner of this small paintballing place, groaned and turned around. He glared at me, even though he knew that those big eyes of his only made me want to pinch his cheek and coo at him instead of shudder in fear.

"No, Sia. I will not give you real bullets and let you accidentally kill someone because you just felt like it. The last time I helped you, Pa almost murdered me for burning down the place," he reminded, making me scowl at the memory.

Pssht. I definitely didn't burn the place down. Rex just overreacted, like he always does. I was an angel, everyone knew that. There was no way I did anything wrong.

Well, it was not my fault that I wanted to see if paintballs could burn. It was just like a science experiment. Plus, it was like three years ago. Who even remembers things of so long ago? Feels like a million years ago.

It wasn't my fault things got out of hand and the fire escalated to the first floor of the place. Definitely not me. I turned to Rex, looking at him suspiciously; it was most probably him.

Grinning, I nodded my head at Rex. "Alright, you win."

He didn't want to help me? It was fine. I didn't need his help. I just need to find the bullets in his Pa's office myself. I was a strong, independent, responsible person.

There was nothing that could go wrong. Right?
